Posted September 19, 200817 yr comment_5434691 I figured Ishin Gundan would just dominate this, and they did early with a long control segment on the weakest link, Kido. But Fujiwara showed a lot of fire, rallying his team with a bunch of headbutts (love his head thrust to the gut.) Sakaguchi also looked good, playing a kind of veteran enforcer for the faces. Eventually though, Fujiwara went to the well once too often with a headbutt. Saito caught him and quickly hit his wicked back suplex for the win. This wasn't a high-end six man for the period, but the Seikigun team was spunky enough that I'll throw it a low-end nomination and see what others think.
August 14, 200916 yr comment_5442773 This was pretty fun, and we obviously need some Choshu army's stuff on the set, but this didn't blow me away like I was expecting. Fujiwara was the star for the face team as a fired up asskicker, but it needed another couple of hot minutes to really break through. Let's move it forward for now, but I want to watch the other Choshu army stuff
September 1, 200916 yr comment_5443672 My biggest problem with this match was that the Army's offense was so random regardless of who their opponent was. I was digging the early part with Kido getting stuck in the Sharpshooters but when Kido came back later, they never went back to that theme. On the face side, at least they established that Yatsu was the weak link for Ishingun. I don't know where Phil gets the fired-up ass kicker for Fujiwara. He was on offense for about 90 seconds throughout the entire match and about 60 of it was applying Boston Crabs. However, I was hyped to see him hook Yatsu in the Sharpshooter as big Fuck You to the Army. Also, he shouldn't have taken the fall with Yatsu established as the weak link. No vote.
