Posted September 19, 200817 yr comment_5434704 Famous match rated by Jeff Bowdren as the 20th best of the decade. It featured eight or nine minutes of crisp action with some cool spots (Davey dead lifting Cobra out of an armbar to set up a missle dropkick by Dynamite was particularly swank.) But it didn't tell much of a story and didn't even build into an epic spotfest that drove the crowd bonkers. I mean, I'll nominate it, because it's one we should probably discuss. But I'm not even sure it was one of the 20 best NJ matches in the first six months of 1984. How Bowdren thought it was better than, say, any Jumbo Tsuruta singles match that decade, is an enduring mystery. NJ TV 7/13/84
August 17, 200916 yr comment_5442903 I enjoyed some of the spots, and wouldn't hate if this was on the set, but this was seven or so minutes, and not as good as a random WCWSN lucha six man. I have no idea what we should do about this.
August 18, 200916 yr comment_5442949 Yeah I have no idea how this should be handled. There are matches which don't do much for me like Tiger Mask v Bret that I can picture doing well on other peoples ballots and should make the set. But this is something I can't imagine any potential voter being excited by. I mean I can't picture this even making Bihari or Allan4L's top 30.
August 30, 200916 yr comment_5443563 OK, after watching this, we put this on as an extra. There is no way this deserves to go on a set this loaded. We put it on as an EXTRA and if people think it is hot shit, let them start a write-in campaign.
