Posted September 29, 200817 yr comment_5434911 OK, Phil and I were talking the other night. He thinks Texas will be easier to put together than New Japan. I think once we run through the classics and the commercial vids, the New Japan TV will be easier to run through especially with Childs going through that TV at a rapid pace. However, we need to hear frm the Texas guys on how long you think it will take you to commit to the footage. I have some 24/7 shows on the way and have two guys I am working on procuring footage from but I don't know how complete the Texas collection will be in the end. However, there is a shitload of New Japan to go through. New Japan Pros and cons- We don't really have to search for any footage sionce I can pick up all remaining missing footage from Dan. However, there is a shitload of footage. We have also nominated more matches and watched more footage but there is a ton. Texas Pros and cons- Alot of repeat matches on the discs making it easier to get through. You guys are going at a rapid pace so far. However, we are still missing alot of footage that I would have to actively seek out. I am game either way but I need some imput.
September 29, 200817 yr comment_5434913 How many discs are out there to view? I know I have the Romdam stuff and SLL has stuff. Is there more to view or do we need to get more stuff? Texas seems to be moving along at a good speed. I've been in Galveston,Texas the last 10 days or I would bring more to the table.
September 29, 200817 yr Author comment_5434916 From 1982-84, we are gold. 85-89, we have a lot of holes to fill for Texas.
September 29, 200817 yr comment_5434918 I have a lot of stuff still to go through just amongst what I already have. I don't know how far off this is in comparison to New Japan, so I wouldn't want to make any suggestions about what will/should be ready next just yet, but in any case, I think we'd all agree it's best not to rush any of the sets.
September 29, 200817 yr comment_5434919 Not sure which should go first, but my guess is that we're a good 4 to 5 months away on New Japan, simply because there's so much footage. Even with as much NJ TV as I've been watching, it takes me maybe three weeks to get through a season. With six full seasons left to hammer through plus Classics from '80 and '81, it's at least a four-month project at that pace. Plus, we're going to have a huge pile of nominated matches to sift through at the end. I'd guess 3/1/09 is a reasonable goal for NJ release.
September 30, 200817 yr Author comment_5434937 My main concern is money. I need to be able to move on either finishing the purchases from Dan (as well as picking up the $400 or so already invested in NJ) or going in to search mode for Texas. In order to do that, I have to be able to get donations and give the people a clear indicator of what is up next. Fuck it, I'll add a poll and you guys can vote NJ or TX.
September 30, 200817 yr comment_5434940 Is all you have from Texas on the matchlist posts because I got some stuff that isn't on there.
