Posted October 3, 200816 yr comment_5434992 Again, Saito reined Cobra into a solid little match. This one was actually better as it carried more of an air of nastiness. Cobra cut off Saito's pre-bell attack by snapping his kendo stick. Saito then controlled the early portion with his heelish combination of throat chops, chokes, etc. Cobra used his athleticism to rally but also mixed in more brawling than I'd seen him do in any other match this year. At one point, they squared off on their knees and just pounded the shit out of each other. Match ended after they spilled outside and Saito again hurled Cobra over the rail. The over-the-rail DQ always strikes me as a reasonable heel copout ending, so it never bothers me. Anyway, I like this feud and the nastiness of this particular match enough to throw it on the block for discussion. Actually, the date should read 11/9/84 and I can't figure out how to fix it.
September 1, 200916 yr comment_5443677 Phil and I watched this at the same time and I enjoyed it. It had some cool spots, some fun shit like the mask tearing, the outside brawling and some nice punches. Some awkward moments with Cobra in control but overall, I think it was about as good as Cobra gets. Nomination.
September 1, 200916 yr comment_5443678 Yeah this was a bunch of fun, they go at it pretty hard at the beginning and they never really take too much of a break, even on chinlocks Saito rips at the mask, even using the ropes to choke him. This also never has the huge Cobra fuck up you expect. Solid selection
