Posted October 9, 200816 yr comment_5435082 Kevin & Mike Von Erich vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy & Michael Hayes) (4/15/84) This had lots of heat and of course Kevin & Gordy were the workhorses here with Hayes being fine when he was in but Mike was still green as grass. Kevin plays FIP here for a while taking a beating plus selling really well. Mike would get the tag and just isn’t believeable when he tries to brawl with Gordy or Hayes for that matter so he tries to keep the match on the mat. Kevin tags back in but would go back to being beaton on by the Birds although he would get the claw on Gordy after he missed the Oriental Spike but Hayes would tag in to stop that. Kevin is hung in the Birds’ corner but would fight out of it getting the tag to Mike and the action would go back and forth with both teams making quick tags while having the advantage. It would soon break down into a 4-way brawl ending up with Kevin hitting his 180 splash off the top rope on Gordy for the win. Buddy would come down for a brawl after the match setting up Texas Stadium. This had some really good action with Kevin really looking good here and this goes on the block.
October 28, 200816 yr comment_5435418 Kevin + Mike Von Erich vs Michael Hayes + Terry Gordy - North Texas State University The hard sell on MVE continues. We even get a pre match hug from a granny for Kevin. The Freebirds are just awesome at making MVE look like a threat. Kevin carried the action for his team.I guess KVE doesn't believe in the hot tag. He should have milked it big when he was FIP his work was great, but the hot tag blew. P.S was showing a lot of agression. Bam Bam was tremendous , but standing in the ring with MVE it felt like he should have been stealing MVE milk money. This was fun with a lot of action. This goes on as a nomination for me.

June 1, 201015 yr comment_5451512 Terry Gordy & Michael Hayes vs. Kevin & Mike Von Erich - Mike Von Erich holds on to a headlock for dear life on Hayes and it is more interesting to see Kevin & Gordy on the outside battling it out. Thankfully, they come in the ring shortly after and have a solid battle. Hayes works a headlock on Kevin and then switches it to a head scissors. When he finally breaks out, Gordy comes in to continue the attack. Kevin isn’t the best person to be FIP but I would rather see him in the ring than Mike. Keep him in there, Birds!Now, Kevin and Gordy are killing my good vibe with a really loooooooooonngg sleeper hold. Kevin powerlifts GOdy up though and rams him into the post to break it up. Kevin gets the tag and Mike comes in… and locks in the headlock . What a loser. Mike doesn’t even have good punches. It must suck being Terry Gordy, having to sell for Mike Von Erich. However, he did put Gordy in the head scissors and drag his face across the mat so he gets points for that. Kevin comes in and the difference in intensity is staggering. Then Mike comes in and thankfully doesn’t do much before Kevin comes back in. A brawl breaks out and Kevin catches Gordy with the body press for the win. Man, I am torn on this match. I feel sorry for you guys having to watch Mike Von Erich for two years. However, there was some good shit in this match. If it has been nominated, consider this a lukewarm yes.
