Posted October 12, 200816 yr comment_5435154 DVD #11 5/17/85 (Taped 5/17) Episode opened on a ridiculously bloody Fujinami brawling with Snuka. Bob Backlund vs. Super Strong Machine - They were not on the same page. Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Mike Sharpe - OK match. Kimura/Inoki vs. Dick Murdock/Andre - One of those scary matches in which Andre appeared near death every time he fell down. And he wasn't selling. 5/24/85 (taped 5/24) - Matches also appear on Classics 193 SS Machine vs. Pedro Morales - Boring. Kengo Kimura/Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Adrian Adonis/Dick Murdoch - The major complaint about Adonis and Murdoch in NJ would be that they tended to work very one-sided and therefore, repetitive matches. That said, this was a top-notch version of the Dick and Adrian show as they unloaded seemingly every move in their vast arsenal on Fujinami. It had a surprise ending too, when Fujinami whipped Murdoch into Adonis on the outside and lunged into the ring for the win by countout. I'll nominate it as a first-rate example of matches that were intrinsic to '83-'85 NJ, but I wouldn't go to the wall for it. Inoki vs. Andre - More immobile Andre. Just sad to watch.
