DVD #19

8/23/85 (taped 8/23)

Don Arakawa/Hoshino vs. Atisanoe/Ueda - This wasn't actually shown, as far as I could tell.

Sakaguchi vs. Giant Machine (Andre)- Squash.

Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Superfly Afi - This was the workrate match for this episode and it went fine but not any better or different than dozens of other solid Fujinami outings.

Kimura/Inoki vs. Higgins/Tony St. Clair - First section featured the heels clubbing on Kimura in rather uninteresting fashion. Then, St. Clair had a long run of heel in peril. Actually, Higgins could have left the building for the last 10 minutes of the match as he was absent from the action anyway. The heel-in-peril section never really built to anything, so the whole thing lacked dramatic tension.

8/30/85 (taped 8/30) - Matches also appear on Classics 206

Shunji Kosugi vs. Keichi Yamada - Worth checking out the Classics version as it was JIP but what they showed looked good. Yamada might have already been the best junior in NJ at this point -- solid on the mat, didn't forget to sell, better high-impact stuff than just about anyone in the company.

Kimura/Fujinami vs. Kerry Brown/Higgins - Dull, dull, dull. Higgins must have left his working shoes at home for this tour.

Inoki/Sakaguchi vs. Strong Machine/Giant Machine (Andre) - More shitty Andre. Actually, he looked a touch healthier than on his previous tour, but he still relied heavily on non-painful looking rest holds.
