Posted October 18, 200816 yr comment_5435274 This is of course right up my alley, built around Fujiwara having problems with Takada, and it had all the punches and mugging and headbutts you would want. I always like watching Fujiwara and Kido fight for holds and, they kept the Yamazaki v . Takada wanking to a minimum, fun finish too. Nomination NJPW Sky A 91
November 24, 200816 yr comment_5435924 Another excellent match between the UWF guys. It suffered little from having Kido in place of Maeda. Takada and Fujiwara got really pissy with each other. Fujiwara was always great in the cocky veteran role. I loved him pulling Takada up twice before the three count so he could punish him more. I also dug the moment when Fujiwara was sort of strutting and Kido tagged in and took him right down. The over-the-rail ending was a bit of a letdown. But this is still an easy nomination.
June 22, 200916 yr comment_5441032 12/27/87 Yoshiaki Fujiwara/Kazuo Yamazaki vs. Nobuhiko Takada/Osamu Kido - Opens up with Fujiwara going for a shoulderblock on Takada but instead, he decides to headbutt his jaw instead. Takada sells it like death. I like the role of punching bag for Takada.First Fujiwara manhandles him and then Yamazaki kicks the hell out of him. The mind game that Fujiwara is playing with Takada is great. Act like a chickenshit when he is in until he can brutalize him. Run to the corner and pop him when he isn’t even in the ring. Great stuff. Since everyone in this mat h loves to kick the holy hell out of each other, the real reason to move this forward is how each guy plays their roles. Fujiwara aas evil ringleader, Takada as whipping post, Yamazaki as weak link and Kido’s just kind of there. Not digging the countout ending although the capture suplex over the railing was an attempt at a cool visual. Still a nomination.
