Already seen the Kevin/Adams match.

Iceman King Parsons vs. “Hacksaw” Butch Reed (10/27/84)

Butch is in on loan from Mid-South and is on the last days of his great heel run talking plenty of shit before the match. Reed spends the early part of the match bumping and selling his ass off for Iceman looking like a black Eddie Gilbert as Iceman just throws loads of soupbones. Reed would finally get control after putting his knees in Iceman’s face as he missed a running splash. Reed just kept sending Iceman to the floor but Iceman would come back with a sunset flip off the apron for a nearfall. The action would go back and forth with some of it being a bit sloppy before the time limit would run out. This was very underwhelming and disappointing.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. “Rock n Roll” Buck Zumhofe (11/9/84)

Jake really sells for Buck here but would just destroy him and won with a suplex on the top rope. Wow not even a DDT for Buck.

NWA World Heavyweight Title: “Nature Boy” Ric Flair © vs. “Gentleman” Chris Adams (11/9/84)

Always funny seeing Ric get cheered in Dallas with the fans chanting his name. Flair is awesome here dancing around to piss off Adams and to get the fans more behind him. Adams wanted to keep Flair on the mat early on working with hammerlocks and his feet on the ropes for leverage with the match in general not looking like the Flair by numbers match which was most likely because Flair was working face. Adams would really work over Flair’s left arm thus rendering Flair a one-armed man but Flair would break out an airplane spin out of a hammerlock which I’ve never seen him use before. Flair would then start working over Adams’ left arm before throwing him to the floor but as Flair tried to suplex Adams back in the ring, he would counter out with a sleeper. Flair would use a backdrop suplex to counter out of that and a slugfest would ensue before Adams would miss a 180 splash onto Rick Hazzard. Adams would roll up Flair in an inside cradle for a nearfall and Flair would counter with an O’Connor Roll for a nearfall. Flair would go for Adams’ left leg but Adams would force him to go to the Boston Crab. This brought in Gary Hart would hit Flair with his belt for the DQ and they brutalized Flair after the match. This was a really good match with a horrid finish and I’m throwing it on the block anyway.

The Missing Link vs. “Rock n Roll” Buck Zumhofe (11/22/84)

Pretty much a squash.

Mike Von Erich vs. “Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez (11/22/84)

Okay match with Gino winning in a screwy way but David Manning would come down to tell Bronko Lubich that Nicola Roberts interfered and the decision would be reversed.

Iceman King Parsons & “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich vs. Kelly Kiniski & Jake “The Snake” Roberts (11/22/84)

Quite a different spot for Kerry on a Reunion Arena show working the midcard. Kiniski’s gimmick here is that he is a protégé of Jake’s and is learning the DDT. Faces looked good early but Iceman would soon play FIP and took a pounding. Iceman would make a comeback and it would become a 4-way brawl with Iceman getting chunked over the top rope leaving Kerry to be double-teamed. Kerry would fight back though as Iceman came back in with a sunset flip on Kiniski for the win. Underwhelming match.

Texas Death Match – SR: Kerry Von Erich: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. Killer Khan (11/22/84)

This had the start but no finish.

American Tag Titles: The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) © vs. The Pretty Young Things (Norvell Austin & Koko Ware) (11/22/84)

PYT’s are on their way out to Florida so it’s jobbin time. There was some real sloppy stuff to start the match but it would settle back to normal after the PYT’s get sent to the floor and the Fants would start their control section as they came back in the ring. Rogers would look great and ate a fucking stiff shoulderblock by Norvell before getting back up and taking the fight back to him. Fulton would come in though and although he was fine it seemed like there was quite a bit of miscommunication going on between him & both PYT’s throughout the match but he does throw some great punches. We would have a big clip here missing the entire heel control section on Rogers and starting back right when he gets the hot tag to Fulton. Fants would soon get the win but my appreciation of the match was shot after the big clip.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Kevin Von Erich (11/22/84)

Here is the big match on the Reunion card and we have dueling promos before the match adding to the spectacle. This is nothing but a brawl which is what it should be considering all the hate involved. Adams would get the advantage on Kevin and Gary Hart would trip up Kevin with Adams jumping off the middle rope with a diving body press to get the win in a quick manner. Kevin gets pissed and bashes Gary Hart with a chair then brawls with Adams in the ring using the same wooden chair. Adams blades as Kevin goes nuts here with the fans joining him. This wasn’t long enough as a match to move forward but this should definitely be on the set as an extra.

Next we get highlights of a tournament final with Gino being crowned as the Texas champ and a fucking great promo by Gino poolside. Definite extra.

1. Kevin Von Erich vs Chris Adams - Cotton Bowl

I've talked about this one earlier.

2. Iceman Parsons vs Butch Reed - Cotton Bowl

I like both men as wrestlers.Reeds shit talking was great. I loved how he called Parsons the Ice cream boy. Reeds bumps early was a highlight of the bout. Overall a disapointment and not a nomination.

3. Jake Roberts vs Buck Zumhoffe

What was that finish.

4. Ric Flair vs Chris Adams

A total role reversal from their last bout. Face Flair with the dancing and strutting was so great. After the strutting and stuff the match goes to the mat and Adams was great here. It was textbook on how to work an arm. On top of that Adams would heel it up with using the rope for leverage. Eventually, Flair would make a comeback and would work Adams arm with revenge spots. This was great as well. I bought the fall at the ref bump. The finish was shit, but the work was awesome and a nomination.

int: Gary Hart + Chris Adams

5. Missing Link vs Buck Zumhoffe - Reunion Arena

Squash

int: Sunshine

7. Mike Von Erich vs Gino Hernandez - Reunion Arena

This was a so so match. I kinda have a sick enjoyment watching Gino work Mike. I need help.

8. Kerry Von Erich + Iceman Parsons vs Jake Roberts + Kelly Kiniski - Reunion Arena

I thought it was alright, but was indifferent to it. Kiniski and Parsons didn't seem to click at all in the ring. I liked the bout in parts, but was underwhelmed as well.

9. Terry Gordy vs Killer Khan - Kerry Von Erich referee; Reunion Arena (not complete)

we have this in full elsewhere.

11. PYT's vs Fantastics - Reunion Arena

I know I have this in full elsewhere and will comment on it when we get to it. I remember liking it after the miscues at the beginning.

int: Kevin Von Erich

int: Chris Adams

13. Kevin Von Erich vs Chris Adams - Reunion Arena

I know this is a sure fire extra, but I'm going to throw it on the block as a nomination. The match was hate filled, and a total stiff as hell brawl. This is one of the all time great brawls of Texas. This is what I love about wrestling. Total hate filled stiff brawls. Two wrestlers have a blood feud and each man hate each other. I know none of the fans felt ripped off that the bout was less than 5 minutes. Brawls don't need to be long, just effective, and this was. It needs to be on the block.

- highlights Kerry Von Erich, Gino Hernandez, + Ric Flair in Texas title tournament - San Antonio

int: Gino Hernandez

A potential extra.
