I don't think they ever met in a big singles match and that's a shame, because they could have pulled off something special. Akira Maeda vs. Rikibatsuzan - Basically a chance for Maeda to kick someone's ass for 10 minutes, spliced with some dull matwork. Antonio Inoki & Seiji Sakaguchi vs. The Jackal & Billy Jack - More Inoki vs. mediocre/shitty invaders. 3/7/86: Antonio Inoki, Seiji Sakaguchi, & Kantaro Hoshino vs. Chris Adams, Kelly Kiniski, & The Jackal - This meandered along. I had some hope for it, because I like Chris Adams, but it was fairly sleep-inducing. Tatsumi Fujinami, Kengo Kimura, & Shiro Koshinaka vs. Akira Maeda, Nobuhiko Takada, & Yoshiaki Fujiwara - I had never seen this match pimped anywhere, but it was a pretty great use of the six-man to build the UWF-NJ feud. It featured cool interactions between Kimura and Takada, Maeda and Fujinami and Fujiwara and, well, everyone. They delivered just enough to make you want to see more of all of these match-ups before blowing up in the inevitable out-of-control brawl. Just a really fun match that I think has to go on the set.
