DVD 6

3/14/86: Last two matches also on Classics 228

IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Shiro Koshinaka © vs. Don Arakawa - JIP. This looked OK but hard to tell how good it was from what was shown. Not a standout from the huge pack of juniors matches.

Tatsumi Fujinami, Kengo Kimura, & Kantaro Hoshino vs. Akira Maeda, Nobuhiko Takada, & Yoshiaki Fujiwara - Much less intense than the previous week's six-man. They worked most of this on the mat without developing much of a plot. The UWF guys picked it up at the end, killing Hoshino as punishment for his spunk. But nothing worth rewatching here.

Antonio Inoki vs. Billy Jack - Billy Jack wasn't any good, and Inoki never showed any interest in pushing him to a better performance.

3/21/86:

IWGP Tag Team Titles: Tatsumi Fujinami & Kengo Kimura © vs. Chris Adams & The Jackal - This went almost 25 minutes and felt really slow -- long FIP segments without much interesting offense from the heels. One for the scrap heap.

Antonio Inoki & Umanosuke Ueda vs. Akira Maeda & Yoshiaki Fujiwara - This had some good stuff in it -- crusty old Ueda going right after Fujiwara, Maeda landing some stiff kicks on Inoki, Fujiwara and Inoki taking it to the mat -- but they failed to build much drama. The UWF-NJ feud featured a recurring theme of low blows, and this seemed to end on a nut shot from Fujiwara to Inoki, though it was hard to tell because the credits were already rolling. No Nomination.
