Posted October 27, 200816 yr comment_5435395 Lumberjack Match: “Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Kevin Von Erich (12/25/84) The lumberjacks do their jobs early keeping the guys in the ring and not actually beating them up. Adams has come into his own as a heel here and the fans are now hating his guts with him eating it up. Adams even breaks out a piledriver here before going up top with Kevin bouncing up and press slamming him throat first on the top rope. Kevin then pins Adams for the 3 count but his foot was under the rope then locks in the claw after the match but Gary Hart would jump him allowing Kevin to attack him. Adams takes off Hart’s shoe and nails Kevin before Mike jumps in to make the save. This was a very heated match both in the ring and in the crowd as the fans were molten and it had a cool finish. This goes forward even though it was the lesser of their matches so far.

I liked how Adams worked over Kevin's neck. The wrestlers worked this good and tight. That finish was brutal. I'll give it a lukewarm endorsement. This has been the weakest of their bouts. The 12-25-84 show was a great show.WCCW delivered on its big shows as far as action during the hot period.
January 3, 200916 yr comment_5436618 This and their Thanksgiving match were wall-to-wall action. Both really had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Shame they were both about five minutes long. Definitely one of those situations where I'd usually hold off on nominating the match because you just know they'll have a rematch where they actually get a decent amount of time that will be the best thing you've ever seen in a wrestling ring. Still, as long as Kris and Shoe are giving it the go-ahead, I'll follow suit, but it is a borderline endorsement. [Legends of WCCW Featuring 12/25/84 Star Wars]
