American Heavyweight Title: “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich © vs. “Gentleman” Chris Adams (2/8/85)

Adams would hit an enzuigiri to start the match which would set the tone here as both men came in here with their working boots on. Adams at this point was one of the best in the world and Kerry would put on great effort against him like he did against Flair so basically Adams brought out the best in him. The struggle over Kerry putting on the iron claw was so well done here as the camera angle showed Adams basically fighting his heart out trying to hold Kerry off. Kerry would hit the discus punch on Adams for a nearfall as Hart put his foot on the bottom rope so Kerry would chase after him allowing him to eat a Superkick but Kerry would block it with his hands falling to the floor. Kerry would climb back on the apron as Hart hit him with his shoe then ate a fucking swank Superkick for the win the title. Great match with loads of action and heat and a definite nomination.

Kerry Von Erich vs Chris Adams

This was some choice stuff here. I was digging the claw spots. I dig the little thing where KVE wipes his hand on his trunks before he goes for it so it won't slip off. Both men looked good. My minor problem I had was it was a little too my turn your turn. Adams sell job on the claw was great. That finish was perfect. A hell of a bout and a nomination.
