Tatsumi Fujinami & Kengo Kimura vs. Dick Murdoch & Moondog Rex - Well-worked tag match with Murdoch playing to his asskicking side more than he did when paired with the far more athletic Adonis. With so many Murdoch matches to choose from, this one doesn't stand out. Antonio Inoki vs. The Masked Superstar - Superstar had actually improved a lot since his first NJ tour. He looked better applying holds and stuck to basic, but effective big man offense. Inoki also showed some fire at the end, trying to rip Superstar's mask off instead of going for the pin. Again, there was nothing really wrong with this match but nothing exceptional about it either. 4/25/86: Akira Maeda vs. Dick Murdoch - They beat the hell out of each other, with Maeda happily selling for Murdoch. You might not expect Murdoch's Southern style and Maeda's nascent shootstyle to blend. But actually, it worked fine, which I guess goes to show that the UWF of that era had a lot more in common with traditional pro wrestling than with, say, RINGS. I figure the match-up is interesting enough that I'll throw it on the block. But I could see it as a relatively painless cut when we're trying to trim this sucker down. Tatsumi Fujinami vs. The Masked Superstar - Another fine Superstar match, but I can't think of any reason to nominate it. Antonio Inoki & Umanosuke Ueda vs. Andre the Giant & Kerry Brown - Not much to like here.
