Posted October 28, 200816 yr comment_5435406 This starts with highlights of Chris Adams firing Gary Hart as his manager for costing him matches then we get highlights of Adams vs. Flair in Fort Worth where One Man Gang would attack him. Mercer would then interview Hart at his house about this situation. Extra material. Mercer then interviews Sunshine who is bringing in Hercules Hernandez to replace Billy Jack Haynes who left a month earlier. American Tag Titles: The Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) © vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) (3/8/85) The fans really hate Cornette here which just adds to the great heat in this match. Rogers again starts the match and stays in quite a while before tagging in Fulton who would continue putting the pressure on the MX who were so great at being heels doing the subtle things that gets these matches over so well. Great selling and bumping for the Fants’ double-team moves along with their singular moves. Cornette is so great as well on the floor selling for the Fants as well as he won’t shut up promising to kill Bobby Fulton one day. Condrey nearly murders Rogers with a clothesline which would start the MX control section where Rogers eats some big moves like an Eaton backbreaker/powerslam combo that was hard hitting. Rogers as usual is an awesome FIP with the fans basically crying for him to make the tag to Fulton but the MX being the great heels they are just cut him off at every chance he gets. Fulton would finally get the hot tag and the 4-way brawl is on although Fulton would take a tennis racket shot by Cornette but he would kick out of the pinfall attempt by Eaton. Fulton would counter with an O’Connor Roll on Eaton prompting Cornette to come in the ring again hitting him with the tennis racket again in front of David Manning for the DQ. Another great match between these teams and a easy nomination. Hercules Hernandez vs. Rip Oliver (3/8/85) Herc is the big surprise from Sunshine and he chokes out Cornette here before the Midnight Express would run out to attack him but he would make his own save. “Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Brian Adias (3/8/85) Adias is back around after almost a year absence. Decent match but it had a pretty big clip in the middle. Gang would attack Adams after the match but ate a fucking awesome Superkick. Iceman King Parsons vs. “The Crippler” Rip Oliver (3/22/85) Iceman is back in after being in Mid-South for a while and he is out for revenge against Oliver who had injured him before he left. Cornette makes himself the focus of the early part of this match keeping Iceman off his game so Oliver can take the advantage but Iceman would fight back keeping it in his favor. This was a pretty good match but nothing special and it would go to a rare time limit draw. Texas Tornado Match: The Dynamic Duo (“Gentleman” Chris Adams & “Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez) vs. Kerry & Kevin Von Erich (3/22/85) Bad to the Bone hits the speakers and the Duo is on their way to the ring and I think that they are the first to use this as a theme song but I could be wrong. This was such a great feud between these two teams because it produced so many great matches and this could really be the last great feud of World Class. This was what you would expect from these four and this type of match as it was an all-action brawl with all four men busting their ass and hitting each other really hard. The match would go all over the ringside area with the fans going nuts and it had a great finish as Adams tried to throw Kevin over the top rope but he skinned the cat then hit a Victory Roll for an apparent pinfall until Gino came in with the Duo’s belts and slammed Kevin with the Texas title as Adams started hitting Kerry with the American title. Great finish to keep the feud going to cap off a wild fun match. Easy nomination. Bill Mercer meets up with the Dynamic Duo at the Guy Laney Lincoln dealership since the winner of a elimination match at Texas Stadium on 5/5 would receive a Lincoln. The Duo are so awesome and this is a definite extra. Hercules Hernandez vs. “The Crippler” Rip Oliver (3/22/85) The fans again hate Cornette which adds to the heat of the match. Okay match that would end in a DQ when the managers got involved. “Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Hercules Hernandez (4/5/85) It is funny watching Herc here do some of Duggan’s schtick as a babyface although it wasn’t completely outright stealing. Adams looks good here and Herc isn’t bad but he isn’t working hard like he was in Mid-South. Adams would hit a weak Superkick then went up top trying to attack Herc but Sunshine grabbed the rope making him fall on the top rope. Herc would go on the offense until Gino would run out for the DQ beating Herc with his shoe with Adams following with a Superkick. Sunshine would chase them out with some aerosol spray. Decision Match for the vacant American Tag Titles: The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. The Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) (4/5/85) This starts out really fast with both teams busting their ass and fighting in and out of the ring. Both teams play to their strenghts as usual with Rogers taking a big-time beating with Eaton hitting a fucking awesome powerslam on him. Eaton was a madman here both on offense and bumping all over the place. Rogers would get the hot tag on Fulton starting up the fireworks with Eaton running into Rick Hazzard knocking him down then Cornette blasts Fulton with a tennis racket but Fulton would kick out of a pinfall attempt. David Manning then comes down calling the match as the 4 men continue to pound on each other. Shitty finish but the match was definintely enough to move forward. World Class booker Ken Mantell comes out and says that the belts are still held up but there would be a definite winner at Texas Stadium on 5/5 to determine the champs as the teams will be in a No DQ match with Cornette barred from ringside. The Fants though have a surprise as they bring out Little John who played Milt on Bachelor Party. Definite extra.
November 19, 200816 yr comment_5435817 - Chris Adams fires Gary Hart - Ft Worth - Highlights Ric Flair vs Chris Adams - Ft Worth int: Gary Hart int: Sunshine She's great here. 1. Fantastics vs Midnight Express Both teams are over. I dug how the MX wanted to sucker Rogers into their corner. No one runs the ropes like Rogers. All of the stuff the 4 wrestlers did in the ring got over. That backbreaker/power slam spot Eaton does to Rogers is sick. Both teams double team stuff was off the hook. Another killer match in this feud and a nomination. 2. Chris Adams vs Brian Adias This looks to have a big clip in it.I hope we get a OMG/Adams bout out of this. 3. Rip Oliver vs Iceman Parsons Having Cornette out there adds a wrinkle to this feud and adds some to the match. He was awesome jawing with Ice. Parsons working the arm was good. We get a clip here and we lose a couple of minutes. Oliver was real good bumping for Parson's offense. This was good. If we have this in full somewhere else it goes forward. For right now it doesn't. int: Sunshine int: Fantastics 4. Kerry + Kevin Von Erich vs Chris Adams + Gino Hernandez - Texas tornado match I love Adam's Psicosis rudo schtick where he slaps the fans hands. The Dynamic Duo have such a Los Gringos Locos vibe to them. I could see the Duo headlining Mexico. The Freebirds could pull it off too. This feud has a Santo/Octagon vs. Barr/Guerrero feel to it. This is bad to the bone. Awesome, awesome stuff that will finish high on my ballot. The switching partners claw spot was so cool. I loved this and it's a slam dunk pick. 5. Terry Gordy vs Missing Link This bout has been discussed on a earlier disc. Still a no. - Terry Gordy/Killer Khan feud recap This is great and should be an extra. int: Chris Adams + Gino Hernandez at a car dealership Another extra. 6. Rip Oliver vs Hercules Hernandez This was good stuff while it lasted. Hercules is so much better here and in Mid-South than he was in the WWF. 7. Gino Hernandez vs Hercules Hernandez Gino was good at bumping and stooging his ass off for Herc. No Finish shown. 8. Chris Adams vs.Hercules Hernandez This match up intriques me. This was fun while it lasted. Adams was good at making this match. Just not enough time. It was more to set up a Texas Stadium tag match. Hercules channeling his inner Duggan was interesting. 8. Fantastics vs Midnight Express I don't know how Eaton never had a broken back taking that hip toss on the floor spot he did throughout the 80's and 90's. Rogers and the MX looked great. Again another killer match. The workrate between the 2 teams is so good. This goes forward as well. Little John is introduced. This is an extra. Sorry about this DVDVR posters.
February 12, 201015 yr comment_5447778 Disc 1: - Chris Adams fires Gary Hart - Ft Worth - Highlights Ric Flair vs Chris Adams - Ft Worth int: Gary Hart Extra. American Tag Titles: The Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) © vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) (3/8/85) Normally, I'd complain that the Fantastics' comeback at the end was a little too short for my liking, but I practically jumped out of my seat when Rogers kicked out of the O'Connor roll after getting hit with the tennis racket, and the body of the match was great, so that's really just nitpicking here. This moves forward. "Land of the Giants" montage They show some clips of Kamala, Andre, and the Gang in action. World Class had some really great giants come through the territory in the 80's, and it is fun watching these guys do their thing. I'd kinda like to see this as an extra. Hercules Hernandez vs. Rip Oliver (3/8/85) Herc makes a good first impression, as he really takes it to Cornette and his army. Borderline extra. Iceman King Parsons vs. “The Crippler” Rip Oliver (3/22/85) I'm kinda curious about what got clipped out. Lots of good stuff here, but as it stands, it's not a nomination. int: Sunshine int: The Fantastics Borderline extras. Texas Tornado Match: The Dynamic Duo (“Gentleman” Chris Adams & “Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez) vs. Kerry & Kevin Von Erich (3/22/85) This was nuts. Heels getting frustrated and throwing chairs into the ring is one of my favorite stock spots in wrestling. Kerry actually catching the chair in mid-air was even better. You kinda wanted this to be No DQ so he could wallop somebody with it afterwords. Still, it didn't need to be, as these guys really brought the hurt. This moves forward. - Terry Gordy/Killer Khan feud recap Good recap. We already have most of the stuff shown here pinned as extras. int: Chris Adams + Gino Hernandez at a car dealership Extra. “Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Hercules Hernandez (4/5/85) Good match. A bit one-sided, which is understandable, as they wanted to show off Herc. He gave a good performance. I think he was actually an improvement on Billy Jack Haynes, which I was not expecting. Decision Match for the vacant American Tag Titles: The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. The Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) (4/5/85) Another great match between these teams. This moves forward. Ken Mantell announces the next Fantastics/MX match Cornette freaks out a lot, and Little John is introduced. Extra.
