1. Black Bart vs Bill Irwin - 1st time back for both since 30 day suspension

I've talked about this elsewhere.

2. Terry Gordy vs John tatum - Badstreet match

Talked about this elsewhere.

- highlights Kerry Von erich vs Kamala

3. Samoan Swat Team vs Kerry + Kevin Von Erich

Roberts outfit is tremendous. Martin's comment of Roberts calls collect on Mothers Day was great. The SST bumped big for the brothers early. That clothesline that Kevin threw was stiff as hell. Samu returned the favor on Kerry. I loved the double team discuss punch. The work in this was tight. Particularly with Kevin and the SST. Kevin brought a ton of energy here. I'm hoping we get a Badstreet bout between the teams. Their was some neat brawling in the stands that was a neat visual. Eventually, Kerry was put in FIP and did a good job here as the SST just murdered him. The heat at this point was red hot and was built up with good work. The hot tag was blown a little. The finish was fun and very Mid-South esque. Overall, I liked it and I'll throw it on the block.

4. Terry Gordy vs Killer Brooks

Brooks is a boring heel. This was fine, but was kinda suprised with a small package with a pair of brawlers.

int: Terry Gordy

- Buddy Roberts promo

5. Kevin Von Erich vs Iceman Parsons

This was a DQ in about 2 minutes. We get a bullshit chant

6. Michael Hayes vs Samu

I liked Samu's face paint of the State of Texas on his face. This was solid, but not a nomination.

7. John Tatum, Jack Victory, + Jimmy Jack Funk vs Terry Gordy, Shaun, + Steve Simpson - Texas torbado match

This was fun. I thought Tatum and Funk looked awesome here. The Simpson's are the shits though. The heels made this match with a lot of help from Gordy. I'm going to give it a nomination, but I see it not going far.

A Lawler video which is a possible extra.

8. Jerry Lawler vs Kerry Von Erich - the match where Lawler KO's Kerry with one punch at start of match

This was a 5* angle, and an extra.

9. Fabulous Lance + Candi Devine vs Iceman Parsons + Sherri Martel - Wild West Wrestling

This had some fun pre match schtick.

Wild Bill Irwin vs. Black Bart (6/24/88)

These two are fresh from a 30-day suspension and they just beat on each other for the whole match with nothing fancy as it was just a straight up fight. Irwin really gets off some good punches here and this had some good stuff but the lack of crowd heat sucked. Akbar would get involved for a shitty DQ finish as Irwin would hit Bart with his big high kick. Irwin would choke out Akbar after the match until Bart hit him with his whip. This had some good stuff like I said but not enough for a nomination.

Badstreet Match: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. “Hollywood” John Tatum (6/24/88)

Tatum gets the best of Gordy early on and would try to stick and move in and out of the ring but Gordy would start throwing punches that would stop that strategy forcing Tatum to go toe for toe. Tatum would even break out a piledriver on Gordy and Tatum would get a good bit of offense in here but soon enough Gordy would regain control forcing Tatum to start stooging again to keep Gordy at bay. Gordy would pound on Tatum who bumped around the ring and you could tell that Gordy was having problems with his knees in those two huge braces. Jack Victory would show up at ringside for a long stalling session as Gordy would do some stalling himself waiting for Victory to leave. The fight would go back to the ring though where a slugfest would kick in until Victory interfered but Tatum would clothesline him by mistake allowing Gordy to hit him with one for the win. They would double up on Gordy after the match until Simpson would run out to even the odds but they heels would go for his hair until Steve Simpson would run out to make the save. The match was very long and plodding with the psychology of the match going against what a Badstreet match was all about. Not a nomination although the angle after the match was fun.

World Class Tag Titles: Kerry & Kevin Von Erich © vs. The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) (8/12/88)

Harvey Martin is on the commentary team now and they are even joined by Joe Pedicino here. Roberts in his Samoan gear eats a discus punch to start the match. This had some really solid back and forth action to start the match as the SST were getting great at this time and the Von Erichs were hanging with them move for move. This would end up on the floor with both teams brawling like crazy in and out of the building as they were kicking each other’s ass. Kerry played FIP and takes a pounding from the SST getting a ton of crowd heat before getting the hot tag to Kevin who would use a double headbutt and dropkick on the SST in a cool spot. Roberts would enter the ring trying to hit Kevin with the glove but Kevin counters with a claw as Samu puts on the glove and covers Kevin for the win. This was loads of fun and a very solid match making it a nomination.

Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. Killer Brooks (8/26/88)

Jesus is Brooks fat as hell right now and he attacks Gordy from the start taking the early advantage even throwing Gordy into the back door. Gordy would make his comeback soon enough going for the Oriental Spike but Brooks would counter out until Gordy would counter himself with an inside cradle for the quick win. Not bad but nothing much to it.

Buddy cuts a promo about running for president and this is funny.

Iceman King Parsons vs. Kevin Von Erich (8/26/88)

The fans are nuts for Kevin. Iceman stalls as much as he can to start off so Kevin would come out to attack Akbar starting a brawl on the floor with Iceman with Kevin bringing a steel chair in the ring for a complete bullshit DQ. The fans agreed.

Michael “PS” Hayes vs. Samu (8/26/88)

The fans are nuts for Michael this time and yeah the face paint of Texas on Samu was awesome. Hayes throws some great punches here as usual before Samu takes over on offense while the fans chant BUDDY AIN’T SHIT which is hilarious. Samu uses various strikes and nerve holds to keep Hayes grounded but Hayes would come back as time is running out hitting a DDT on Samu but as he goes for the pin, Buddy rings the bell making everyone think it was a draw. Hayes would then attack Buddy until Fatu would show up before Steve Cox would come out to even the odds. Great finish to an average match.

Texas Tornado Match: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy, Shaun & Steve Simpson vs. Jimmy Jack Funk, “Hollywood” John Tatum, & Jack Victory (8/26/88)

Gordy comes out ready for war as he breaks a chair with his feet before the match. This was all-action with everyone brawling around the ring pounding on each other. Gordy was great here throwing bombs on the heels especially Tatum and even putting him in a sasorigatame at one point. Jimmy Jack was the brawler of his team although his teammates held their own but the Simpson just didn’t look credible in there against these guys in this type of match. Gordy carried the load for his team although the Simpsons were integral to the finish as they ran Tatum off and tied up Victory in the ropes so Gordy could put Funk in a piledriver to get the win. I really liked this one and this should move forward mainly thanks to Gordy.

AWA World Heavyweight Title vs. World Class Heavyweight Title: Jerry “The King” Lawler © vs. “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich © (9/9/88)

Lawler says before the match that he made the challenge not Kerry so before the match starts Kerry wants a handshake from Lawler but eats a patented Lawler right hand before the match. Lawler then berates him as Kerry bleeds on the mat then tries to steal the belt before getting in a tug-of-war with Frank Dusek. Lawler is wearing batting gloves on his hands and this is a fucking awesome angle. Slam dunk extra.

Then we get a Iceman/Sherri Martel vs. Lance/Candi Divine match from Wild West in 1987. Nothing much to this. Harold Harris is the referee though which is funny.

Wild Bill Irwin vs. Black Bart (6/24/88)

This was not so good. Irwin is really hit-or-miss, and in this match he was a little bit of both, but Black Bart just stinks most of the time, and he looked real bad here. Totally smoked by their Wild West match from two months earlier.

Badstreet Match: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. “Hollywood” John Tatum (6/24/88)

This wasn't exactly the kind of match you think of when you think "Badstreet", but still a good performance from both guys, and felt like a maybe nomination. I'd have to think about it, which means it's probably not one, but still. Amused by Bill Mercer on commentary, as he's apparently forgotten what a Badstreet match is, and keeps getting confused when wrestlers aren't getting counted out or DQ'd during the match.

Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. Killer Brooks (8/26/88)

Damn, Tim Brooks looks like he's turning into John Tenta. This wasn't good.

Michael “PS” Hayes vs. Samu (8/26/88)

I liked this way more than either of you guys. Honestly, I'd probably nominate it, but I thought the finish made Samu look kinda weak, and I don't see myself fighting for this one.

Texas Tornado Match: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy, Shaun & Steve Simpson vs. Jimmy Jack Funk, “Hollywood” John Tatum, & Jack Victory (8/26/88)

The Simpsons don't really stand out here, but I don't think they looked particularly bad, and everyone else was great. This moves forward.

Jerry Lawler "Glory Days" music video

This would be an extra if it weren't already one on the Memphis set.

AWA World Heavyweight Title vs. World Class Heavyweight Title: Jerry “The King” Lawler © vs. “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich © (9/9/88)

Lawler goes to Dallas and channels Flair from when he went to Memphis, and it is awesome. Slam dunk extra.

Fabulous Lance + Candi Devine vs Iceman Parsons + Sherri Martel - Wild West Wrestling

I actually liked this a lot. Felt real close to a nomination at points. Parsons and Sherri have some really fun shtick worked out. Candi looks like the identical twin sister of John Tatum. She has terrible looking offense that I imagine would wear on my nerves in a singles match, but in a mixed tag, I actually find a certain charm there. She also takes some nice bumps off of Sherri's stuff. Lance isn't really called on to do a whole lot. Finish is dopey. Still, thought this was a lot of fun.
