DVD 13

6/17/86: - Matches also on NJ Classics 237 and 238

IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Nobuhiko Takada © vs. The Cobra - Good spotfest with some beautifully timed kick spots by Takada. I didn't like it as much as I remembered, but I think I was just getting into Takada the first time I saw it. Anyway, Cobra was basically incapable of wrestling a smart match, but he looked crisp enough here, so the whole thing worked. Nomination and a match that will still probably do pretty well in the poll because it's 20 minutes of straight action.

Antonio Inoki vs. Andre the Giant - Notable only in that Andre allowed Inoki a clean win by submission. Otherwise, it was a lot of their usual lying/standing around.

7/4/86:

Kengo Kimura & Umanosuke Ueda vs. Akira Maeda & Yoshiaki Fujiwara - Fujiwara and Maeda didn't get to destroy Ueda and Kimura enough for this to grab my interest.

Tatsumi Fujinami & Kantaro Hoshino vs. Kendo Nagasaki & Mr. Pogo - I have yet to see any good Nagasaki and Pogo in NJ.

Antonio Inoki, Seiji Sakaguchi, & George Takano vs. Steve Williams, Johnny Mantell, & Hacksaw Higgins - This featured plenty of fine action, but I couldn't discern any greater purpose. I guess it showed Williams as a threat to the top guys because of his power.
