Posted November 6, 200816 yr comment_5435562 Commenting on stuff I haven't seen. “The Crippler” Rip Oliver vs. “Private” Terry Daniels (1/11/85) Easy squash. One Man Gang vs. Shawn Michaels (1/11/85) Early Shawn gets killed. “Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez vs. “White Lightning” Tim Horner (2/8/85) Horner here is odd but part of their tiein with Mid-South. Horner gets a little offense but Gino wins easily. “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich vs. “The Crippler” Rip Oliver (2/22/85) Sunshine comes out to offset Cornette at ringside. This had a big clip in the middle that hurt but the match looked fine. Kevin Von Erich vs. Thor (Kevin Kelly) (4/5/85) Thor was a big stiff but Kevin worked around him. One Man Gang vs. Mr. Ebony (Tom Jones) (4/19/85) I loved the Ebony gimmick but he was a big jobber here. Mike Von Erich vs. Rip Oliver (5/5/85) Mike wins this fairly easily sending Oliver to Florida. Next we get an Iceman video as he is returning from Mid-South. The Great Kabuki & “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich vs. The Dynamic Duo (“Gentleman” Chris Adams & “Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez) (6/14/85) So odd seeing Kabuki teaming with a Von Erich. Adams would hit Kerry with a Superkick early knocking him over the top rope which would really get the crowd & Kerry going. Kerry then started whipping Adams’ ass on the floor before Gino intervened. Then there is a terrible big clip in the middle which ruined the match for me. Maniac Mark Lewin vs. Mike Reed (7/12/85) Squash. “Hollywood” John Tatum vs. Brian Adias (7/26/85) More clipping. Next we get a promo with Bill Mercer interviewing Jim Powers at some ice cream shop and this is a definite extra. Powers lasted like 3 weeks. Jim Powers vs. Mike Bond (7/26/85) One of the rare Powers matches.
May 28, 201015 yr comment_5451382 Disc 1: Chris Adams vs. Brian Adias Big clip here, which is too bad, as what's shown is really good. Kevin Von Erich "Thank God For Kids" Music Video Kevin hangs out with a bunch of kindergarteners playing with hand puppets, and I can't figure out if this is awesome, lame, sappy, adorable, creepy, poignant, or some combination thereof. I'm pretty certain it's an extra, though. Maybe this is how we open the all-sleaze extras disc. Iceman King Parsons vs. Rip Oliver Iceman's return to World Class is clipped out almost in it's entireity, much to my consternation. Disc 2: Seen everything of note here. Disc 3: Iceman King Parsons Interview Iceman King Parsons "We Are Family" Music Video Iceman refutes the claims that Tim Brooks dislocated Mike Von Erich's shoulder. He says Mike hit Brooks so hard that he dislocated his own shoulder, which I can't even begin to envision Mike being able to do, but Iceman is so awesome and his delivery so strong that you actually buy it coming from him. Still, he feels guilty since he was Mike's tag partner and should have done a better job looking out for him, and he's coming back to Dallas to set things right. We get a cool music video to celebrate the occasion. This is all extra material. Jim Powers Interview Interesting setting for an interview. I don't know that it needs to be an extra.
