Bruiser Brody & Iceman King Parsons vs. Maniac Mark Lewin & One Man Gang (8/23/85)

Brody makes his in-ring return after nearly 2 years of being away and he brawls with Lewin on the floor as the match starts trying to chase him out but cooler heads would prevail. I loved the Brody/Gang exchanges as they were just beating each other up. Iceman plays FIP here getting pounded on by the heels mainly Lewin. Gang would bring a steel chair in the ring that Brody would end up slamming him on and eventually got the heels DQed.

Brian Adias & “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich vs. The Dynamic Duo (“Gentleman” Chris Adams & “Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez) (8/23/85)

Adias & Kerry rush the ring to go after the Duo but are held off as both men are pissed at them. Kerry plays FIP here surprisingly to me and takes a good beating including eating a Superkick as a transitional spot though. Kerry would also receiver sleeper holds from both men before making a comeback and tagging in Adias. Adias cleans house before slowing it down with a front chancery on Gino before he would get taken into the heel corner leading to another heel control section. Adias took a good pounding before finally getting the tag to Kerry who started throwing bombs before locking in the iron claw on Gino but Adams would stop that. The 4-way brawl was on leading to Adams knocking down Rick Hazzard then nailing Adias with a Superkick. Gino then breaks out the scissors but Kerry would make the save. Kerry would tie Gino up in the ropes before going to cut his hair but the Duo would get away. This was really fun and a nomination.

Then we get the Mike Von Erich press conference at the hospital and man was this sad.

Next we get highlights of Tatum vs. Casey in Fort Worth which would see the debut of Missy Hyatt. Definite extra.

“Hollywood” John Tatum vs. Brian Adias (8/23/85)

Missy was quite the looker back at this time. This was a pretty good match with Tatum using the tights to win after an O’Connor Roll and I’m going to give this a maybe nomination.

Next we have a synopsis of the Von Erichs/Dynamic Duo feud and this is a definite extra.

Iceman King Parsons & Kerry Von Erich vs. Maniac Mark Lewin & Jack Victory (9/6/85)

Victory looks out of place here with the big boys. Lewin tries to meet the faces up the ramp as they come down setting off a standoff which was pretty cool. The main story in this match is continuing the Lewin/Iceman feud with Iceman just taking a beating from Lewin and even Victory. Iceman would make a comeback before the match would turn into a 4-way brawl with Kerry & Lewin brawling to the floor with Lewin posting him. Lewin would then lock in a sleeper but Kerry would hit a discus punch on Lewin sending him to the floor as Iceman gets an inside cradle on Victory to win. I really liked this and I’m throwing it on as a low-end nomination.

Bruiser Brody vs. “Hollywood” John Tatum (9/6/85)

Brody gives Tatum a good bit of offense but of course he would win in the end.

Next we get clips of Gino regaining the Texas title from Brian Adias on 9/2 in Fort Worth and clips of Adams/Kevin w/Gino in a cage from the same show.

One Man Gang vs. Iceman King Parsons (9/6/85)

Iceman comes in with his hand taped and David Manning demands that the tape be removed before the match starts. Gang would attack Iceman after he removed the tape and beat his ass in a very long control section with Iceman taking all of Gang’s offense. Gang would miss a running splash in the corner before Iceman would finally fight back hitting the Butt Butt two times that would send the Gang to the mat. Parsons starts throwing bombs sending the Gang to the floor with Gary Hart whining about Iceman using closed fists and wanting the Gang to leave the area which they would for a countout. Fun stuff.

Then we get clips of Adias & Von Erichs taking the 6-man titles from Gang/Lewin/Victory subbing for Killer Brooks in Fort Worth on 9/2.

American Tag Titles: The Dynamic Duo (“Gentleman” Chris Adams & “Handsome Halfbreed’ Gino Hernandez) © vs. Kerry & Kevin Von Erich (9/6/85)

The Von Erichs come in dangling their newly won 6-man titles and everyone in this match has gold. This had standard rules unlike some of the other ones. This was yet another solid all-action match between the two teams with everyone working hard using some hateful offense. It would become a 4-way brawl of course that had a great finish as Kevin hit his 180 splash off the top rope on Gino but Adams would run in with the belts hitting Kevin with his. David Manning then decided to vacate the titles in an added twist to the feud then the four would start fighting again with the Von Erichs getting a pinfall and wanting the titles but Manning nixed it. Another solid match between these four and this goes on the block.

1. Bruiser Brody + Iceman Parsons vs Mark Lewin + One Man Gang

This was just some good fun. I thought Brody looked like a bad mama Jama. The OMG looked like a bad ass. Parsons as the FIP was good. Lewin looked good as well. I dug Parsons block of Lewins chop and then delivered a head butt of his own. That was a neat hope spot. I thoght this was good and deserving of a nomination. Plus we got a spirited postmatch brawl.

2. Kerry Von Erich + Brian Adias vs Chris Adams + Gino Hernandez

I thought this was a total blast. This was a great southern tag. Both faces got the chance to play FIP. The heels were great at getting heat on the faces. Adams giving KVE a headbutt to the neck was cool. I thought KVE was on fire. He was great as a FIP, and he was awesome taking the hot tag from Adias. Great stuff and a nomination.

- update on Mike Von Erich's health

This is sad. I feel scummy to say it, but it should go on as an extra. Maybe we should do an extras disc on things Fritz did that made him a canidate for Hell .

- highlights John Tatum vs Scott Casey - Ft Worth

3. John Tatum vs Brian Adias

I thought Tatum's stooging was real good here.Tatum's schtick with the taped fist was good.

- Von Erichs/Adams + Hernandez feud recap

This should go on as an extra.

4. Kerry Von Erich + Iceman Parsons vs Jack Victory + Mark Lewin

Victory was the Observer ROTY in 85 I believe. The Lewin/Hart passing of the foreign object was fun.Overall though I wasn't a fan of this match.

5. Bruiser Brody vs John Tatum

This was a bad match.

6. Gino Hernandez vs Brian Adias - Labor Day; Ft Worth

This is JIP.

7. Kevin Von Erich vs Chris Adams - Gino Hernandez in cage above ring; Labor Day, Ft Worth

This is JIP. The rolling body scissors from KVE is so neat.e outside in with the claw was awesome. Kevin dragging Adams from the outside in with the claw was awesomeThis was solid stuff, but not a nomination. The postmatch was off the charts and needs to be on as an extra.

8. One Man Gang vs Iceman Parsons

OMG was throwing some stiff overhand blows. Parsons was great at selling the beating. Parsons not to be outdone was throwing some stiff chops. I liked this but not quite a nomination.

9. Brian Adias, Kerry, + Kevin Von Erich vs Mark Lewin, One Man Gang, + Jack Victory - faces win 6 man title; Ft Worth

This is JIP.

10. Kerry + Kevin Von Erich vs Chris Adams + Gino Hernandez

Both Von Erichs get a chance tp play FIP.Again this is another good bout between the teams. I thought the Adias tag was better earlier in the disc. Also, I thought this was one of the lesser of the bouts between the teams. Still had enough good stuff to warrant a nomination. This bout felt a little bit more controled than some of their previous bouts.

Bruiser Brody & Iceman King Parsons vs. Maniac Mark Lewin & One Man Gang (8/23/85)

In every one of these sets, there are certain guys you have to include if only to give a real accurate picture of the promotion. WWF set had to have some Hogan title defenses. Mid-South set had to have some JYD. I know they tried in the New Japan set to find some Tiger Jeet Singh stuff worthy of inclusion. Even though it really applies to 70's World Class more than 80's World Class, I sorta feel like you can't get a truly accurate picture of the promotion without including a Mark Lewin match. This was one of his better outings, and a good match overall. That said, I've already seen better matches of his that I passed over, and I don't really think this is good enough to get my backing. But I'm keeping an eye out for the guy.

Brian Adias & “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich vs. The Dynamic Duo (“Gentleman” Chris Adams & “Handsome Halfbreed” Gino Hernandez) (8/23/85)

Awesome bout, probably the best thing Adias ever did as a babyface. This moves forward.

Slam dunk "Fritz's Road to Hell" extra.

- highlights John Tatum vs Scott Casey - Ft Worth

Extra.

“Hollywood” John Tatum vs. Brian Adias (8/23/85)

There is a clip in here, and I don't know how much we missed. As it stands, this feels more like an extra than a nomination.

- Von Erichs/Adams + Hernandez feud recap

A lot of this stuff is already slated to be included as extras in their own right. I don't know that this needs to go on as well.

Iceman King Parsons & Kerry Von Erich vs. Maniac Mark Lewin & Jack Victory (9/6/85)

OK, couldn't really keep my interest throughout.

Bruiser Brody vs. “Hollywood” John Tatum (9/6/85)

Really good match. I've seen that Brody sold a lot more in Texas than he did anywhere else, but still stunned to see him work so evenly with Tatum of all people. Tatum makes the most of it, and Brody looks good, too. Not quite a nomination, but I liked it a lot.

Kevin Von Erich vs Chris Adams - Gino Hernandez in cage above ring; Labor Day, Ft Worth

What's shown of the match is really good. Post-match stuff is an extra.

One Man Gang vs. Iceman King Parsons (9/6/85)

Fun, not a nomination.

American Tag Titles: The Dynamic Duo (“Gentleman” Chris Adams & “Handsome Halfbreed’ Gino Hernandez) © vs. Kerry & Kevin Von Erich (9/6/85)

One of their lesser bouts. We will have plenty of matches between these teams. I don't think we need this one.
