They worked this more like Fujinami's matches with Choshu from 1983, with lots of intense matwork broken up by spurts of violence. It was still really good. I dug a sequence in which Kimura kicked Fujinami off the top rope to the floor and then almost knocked him out with a flurry of punches to the body. I also liked Fujinami's relentlessness in going after various submissions at the end. The only real disappointment was the respectful postmatch handshake, which signaled the end of a feud that seemed to have a lot more legs. Definite nomination nonetheless.

I may have to rewatch the match after disconnecting myself from the last one. Th matwork was pretty great, Fujinami going after the leg was a plus, Kimura countering fujinami with big moves, all good. Kimura didn't show any viciousness until about 15 minutes in. After pinning Fujinami with the running kick in the last match, He pulls him up off the mat after the count begins. What a dick and it would prove to be his undoing. The match really picked up after Kimura knocked Fujinami off the turnbuckle. Those punches outside looked evil. Fujinami gets his revenge in the end and all is right with the world. After my initial disappointment wore off, this turned into a great match. Solid nomination. So far, every Kimura-Fujinami match has been gold. I need to revisit the match Childs turned down just to see if there was anything there he may have overlooked.
