The Koshinaka/Takada and Fujinami/Maeda pairings are classics, and they showed why here. But really, all four pairings produced nifty sequences. The match ended a little abruptly on what might have been a legit Takada knockout of Koshinaka. But this is an easy nomination.
August 13, 200916 yr comment_5442755 OUCH! One of Takada's kicks looked so nasty, it should have broken Koshinaka's nose. I think I enjoyed Koshinaka-MAeda even more than Koshinaka-Takada in the early minutes. Early on, Fujinami looks helpless as Koshinaka plays FIP. Shit Takada-Maeda would have been an AWESOME evil Japanese team if they ever made it to American shores. When Fujinami makes the tag, he rips it up. I am so used to Fujinami being relatively reserved that when you throw him in with the UWF guys, he just unleashes all this fury. Takada's turn at being cut off doens't result in as good of a run as the earlier Koshinaka because Takada doesn't sell as well. Probably the only real wekaness as this match was all action full of stiff strikes, great teamwork and momentum shifts. In the stretch run, Fujinami and Maeda have a jaw-dropping sequence of strikes, counters, and dodges. Then Takada and Koshinaka decide to have a hot stretch run. It was almost like teammates picking a dancing partner and deciding who would have the best dance-off. Add the knockout ending and this is a great nomination. This will be in the upper-echelon of tag matches on my ballot.
