Posted November 17, 200816 yr comment_5435780 DVD #23 Summer Night Fever pt. 2 8/20/87 IWGP Jr. tourney Kobayashi vs. Goto - Most of this short match was shown, but it needed another 5 strong minutes to enter nomination territory. Takada vs. Yamazaki - About half of this was clipped out. In some ways, that was for the best, as it meant I didn't have to watch their (probably) uninspired early matwork. Still, it wouldn't be fair to compare to this to full matches, though the finishing sequence was quite good. Kobayashi vs. Takada - Outstanding title showdown. Kobayashi matched up with Takada better than any NJ junior outside of Koshinaka. It's a shame they didn't have more matches. Definite nomination. Animal Hamaguchi retirement ceremony Inoki/Mutoh vs. Choshu/Fujinami - Choshu and Fujinami spent a little too much of the match keeping Inoki and Mutoh in holds. This was a heated environment and plenty of issues lingered from the previous night, so I wanted to see them fight more. The last five minutes were good, but I thought they needed another five, given the way they started the match.
