Posted November 20, 200816 yr comment_5435861 DVD #14 September 7th: Kyoto Keiichi Yamada & Nobuhiko Takada vs Mark Rocco & Owen Hart - This was a nice showcase for the debuting Owen. The Japanese fans were generally more conditioned to crazy high flying than their American counterparts. But Owen still had them oohing and ahhing with his athleticiscm. The match didn't feature great performances from any of the other three guys, but there are a lot of Owen fans out there who might enjoy seeing this, so I'll move it forward. Yosiaki Fujiwara & Antonio Inoki vs Akira Maeda & Tatsumi Fujinami - Maeda/Inoki and Maeda/Fujiwara are always good, but this struck me as some of the lowest end work from those pairings. There also appeared to be a few jump cuts near the end. And the ending itself kind of sucked, as Fujiwara went down from a half-blocked kick that barely would have registered in his fabulous singles matches with Maeda. No nomination. September 14th: Okayama Akira Maeda vs Dick Murdoch - Decent but we've already nominated a ton of better stuff from both guys. Keiji Muto & Nobuhiko Takada & Antonio Inoki vs Kuniaki Kobayashi & Super Strong Machine & Tatsumi Fujinami - Another match that looked good on paper but didn't feature energized or interesting performances from any of these guys. Pass.
