- Percy Pringle in ring w/ letters wanting Embry reinstated; Gary Young, Cactus Jack, + Super Black Ninja attack him

- Percy Pringle w/ more mail

- recap of Eric Embry suspension situation

1. Bill Irwin vs Botswana Beast

This was kinda of a stinker.

int: Killer Brooks

- highlights of Thunderdome match

I think this is the bout discussed in Foley's 1st book.

- highlights Eric Embry vs Botswana Beast - Embry's last Texas match; Ft Worth

int: Percy Pringle

2. Buddy Roberts, Beauty, + The Beast vs Brickhouse Brown, Chris Adams, + Jeff Jarrett

Robert's busts Adams open with the perfume spray in a prematch brawl. So this becomes 3 on 2. I thought this was fun while it lasted. We get a shit finish. A great spirit of 76 save from Adams.A good heated match with a great fired up promo from Adams.

3. Beauty + The Beast vs Chris Adams + Brickhouse Brown

Adams has the coolest jackets. Garvin's schtick is good at getting cheap heat. Garvin's kissing is like a OMG moment. I loved how the heels used it as a transition to go on offense. Roberts took 2 unprotective headshots. This again was a ton of fun. Just not quite a nomination. A good beatdown of the faces postmatch.

int: Chris Adams

4. Chris Adams vs Botswana Beast

Adams super kick to Beast's stomach was neat. Beasts sell job was straight out of the old Mike Tyson's Punch Out nintendo game. Adam's facials were good as well. More of a set up for an angle.

5. Beauty + The Beast vs Chris Adams + Cpl Braddock

Garvin was great at bumping around early. Adams big knee off the top was cool as hell. The arm work from the faces was well done. The nearfall off the superkick was a great nearfall. This was solid.

int: Blackjack Mulligan

int: Eric Embry's farewell; then he gets reinstated

A nice little subtle shot at the Von Erichs. This segment got over huge. This is a possible extra.

6. Eric Embry vs Killer Brooks

More of an angle.

7. Steve + Shaun Simpson vs Gary Young + Cactus Jack

What a wild opening. This is more fire I've ever seen from the Simpsons. This was a great brawl that gets another bullshit finish. This was all set for a nomination until the run ins.

8. Jimmy Jack Funk, Jeff Jarrett, + Chris Adams vs Buddy Roberts, Beauty + The Beast

The face side has some damn good workers. The faces were good with the arm work. The shine segment was great. Eventually, Jarrett was put in the FIP role. This was solid here. It could have been better done, and made more exciting. Shit finish again. The post match had some great bumps. Adams facials and selling of the choke was off the charts. Jarrett almost dieing when thrown over the top rope. I liked this match overall though and am nominating it as a low end nomination.

9. Blackjack Mulligan vs Ray Evans

Squash.

int: Blackjack Mulligan

10. Kerry Von Erich + Brickhouse Brown vs Iceman Parsons + Botswana Beast

Iceman is great here. The work throughout was good. We got a pinfall as a finish.

This starts out with Percy Pringle standing in the ring with letters wanting Eric Embry back in World Class so of course Devastation Inc. attacks him. This is great stuff and this whole angle is extra material.

Wild Bill Irwin vs. Botswana Beast (3/10/89)

This wasn’t good but would feature the return of Killer Brooks who could barely move.

Then we get clips of a Thunderdome match from Fort Worth.

Next are clips of Embry’s last match in Fort Worth against the Botswana Beast.

Percy then cuts another great promo on Dusek about bringing Embry back.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams, Brickhouse Brown, & Jeff Jarrett vs. Beauty & The Beast, & Buddy Roberts (3/10/89)

Roberts jumps Adams before the match with the perfume spray gun bloodying him up and forcing him to go to the back to get bandaged up. This had some fun action as Brick & Jarrett were solid in their roles being underdogs fighting against the numbers game but had a really shitty finish as Buddy just slung Brickhouse over the top rope for the DQ. Jarrett would be jumped until Adams would return cleaning house then cutting a great bloody promo afterwards. Extra material.

Beauty & The Beast vs. “Gentleman”Chris Adams & Brickhouse Brown (3/18/89)

Garvin was great early on doing his tribute to Adrian Street even breaking out a kiss on Adams but on his cheek though that would piss off Adams leading to the babyface offensive brigade. Garvin would stop that though this time by planting another kiss this time on the mouth of Brick followed up by a big clothesline. The heels would then really work over Brick as the chants run wild on Garvin with all your anti-gay epitaphs being thrown around until Brick would finally get the hot tag to Adams. Adams would then fire away on Garvin until Roberts would trip him up from the outside followed up by coming in the ring with the perfume spray gun ready to attack but hitting Garvin by mistake forcing the DQ. Adams would then tie Buddy up in the ropes and nailed him with a steel chair twice unitl Brooks & Iceman would run out to attack Adams. This was some good stuff and should be extra material.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Botswana Beast (3/18/89)

Adams comes out and demands to take the “injured” Kerry’s place in the match to which Akbar obliges. Adams takes a pounding early before hitting a great Superkick on the fat stomach of the Beast that would lead into a sleeper hold. Beast would break free though before using a titty twister that Adams would counter out of. Adams would take control as Kerry would show up saying that the tires got cut on his car. Iceman & Brooks would then attack Kerry with a trash can lid setting off a brawl. This was great stuff and extra material.

Beauty & The Beast vs. “Gentleman” Chris Adams & Corporal Braddock (3/24/89)

This was actually pretty good considering Beast & Braddock were working in the match. Adams was really solid here and Garvin held his own doing his gimmick so it made the match work. The ending also worked because it advanced the whole Harold Harris saga. Good stuff.

Pringle comes out with a lot of fans all holding letters wanting Embry back. This was great stuff and extra material.

Blackjack Mulligan makes his return to World Class in a promo.

Embry & Pringle show up at ringside where Embry is going to give his farewell promo but Dusek brings him back into the fold and this is awesome. Embry then demands to face Killer Brooks who was in the ring already and they have a wild brawl. Definite extra.

Shaun & Steve Simpson vs. Cactus Jack & “Gorgeous” Gary Young (3/24/89)

Akbar comes out pissed before the match aboud Embry and jaws with Dusek until the Simpsons jumps the heels on the floor starting the match in a fast way. The match was going along good until the Devastation crew ran out again for another ambush until a bandaged up Embry runs out with a board to make the save. Another definite extra.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams, Jeff Jarrett, & Jimmy Jack Funk vs. Beauty & The Beast, & Buddy Roberts (4/1/89)

Garvin really gets his arm worked over early with all the faces taking their turn wrenching at it and Garvin sells his beating very well. The other heels would take shots as well with Jarrett throwing some good punches before going to work on the arm of the Beast. The tide would turn though when Beauty grabbed Jarrett by the hair and dropped him face first on the mat starting their control section. Jarrett was solid as the FIP before finally getting the hot tag to Adams setting off a 6-way brawl. Iceman then jumped in the ring for the DQ using his cane to choke Adams as he was handcuffed to the ropes. Jarrett would take a huge bump to the floor after being thrown over the top rope and this was a wild brawl. The match was hot and the action afterwards was even hotter so this goes on the block.

Blackjack Mulligan vs. Ray Evans (4/1/89)

Squash.

Mulligan then cuts a great race baiting promo on foreigners afterwards.

Botswana Beast & Iceman King Parsons vs. Brickhouse Brown & “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich (3/24/89)

This is a wild brawl at the bell as the faces send the heels running to the floor. The match would settle down to a regular match with Iceman missing a big Butt Butt and taking a beating to the floor. The faces were great here throwing punches especially Kerry and the selling by both Iceman & Beast were great. Beast hitting Iceman on the head which started a funny sequence where Iceman wouldn’t tag back in the ring was good followed up by Iceman hitting Beast by mistake with the Butt Butt. The action between the funny business was really good with Kerry playing FIP and doing a pretty good job. Brick would get the hot tag and cleaned house before it would turn into a 4-way brawl with Kerry taking the Beast up the aisle as Iceman would headbutt Brick in the stomach and pinned him for the win. I really liked this one mainly because it had a clean finish!!!!! This goes on the block.

- Percy Pringle in ring w/ letters wanting Embry reinstated; Gary Young, Cactus Jack, + Super Black Ninja attack him

Another great chapter of the angle. Bonus points for Cactus Jack shoving the letters down Pringle's throat. Extra.

- more Eric Embry suspension stuff

Every part of this angle is great except for the parts that actually have Embry in them, because he comes off as completely unsympathetic.

Wild Bill Irwin vs. Botswana Beast (3/10/89)

Not so good.

int: Percy Pringle

Pringle cuts as strong of a promo as he can given the circumstances, but I am turning against this angle hard, and there's only so much he can do to stop that.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams, Brickhouse Brown, & Jeff Jarrett vs. Beauty & The Beast, & Buddy Roberts (3/10/89)

This was a lot of fun, and I agree with it being an extra.

Beauty & The Beast vs. “Gentleman”Chris Adams & Brickhouse Brown (3/18/89)

Looking over the nominated matches, we have the unique opportunity to put three different Garvins on this set. And well, I guess you could include this as an extra, but honestly don't see why this doesn't work as a full-fledged nomination, if a bit of a low-end one. It's better than the Beauty & the Beast match I already nominated. Garvin brings more than just shtick this time. He really lays in that clothesline after smooching Brickhouse, and is generally more beastly than the Beast himself is. Beast actually isn't that good, but he'd not a dealbreaker or anything, and Adams and Brickhouse are their usual amazing selves. Also has some great interludes on the mic from Buddy Roberts ("Well, what did it look like?!") and Marc Lowrance presaging Bill Watts' confrontation with Jim Cornette by about four years, talking about how he wouldn't want to be kissed by Garvin because of "all the diseases going around these days". Screwy finish, but it's World Class, and the post-match stuff is good. Bet Buddy wished he still had his headgear.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Botswana Beast (3/18/89)

Extra.

Beauty & The Beast vs. “Gentleman” Chris Adams & Corporal Braddock (3/24/89)

Good match. The Beast and Braddock both looked better than usual here, especially Beast, who laid in some good shots and ate stuff well.

Percy Pringle confronts Frank Dusek

Pringle goes all "Miracle on 34th Street" with the line of people carrying letters demanding that Eric Embry be reinstated. I end up sympathizing with Dusek.

int: Eric Embry's farewell; then he gets reinstated

Dusek pusses out and reinstates Embry. I have completely turned on this angle, but we probably have to include this as an extra just on general principle.

Shaun & Steve Simpson vs. Cactus Jack & “Gorgeous” Gary Young (3/24/89)

This helped wash the taste of the previous segments out of my mouth. With the suspension angle over, Embry can get back to doing what he does best. Extra.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams, Jeff Jarrett, & Jimmy Jack Funk vs. Beauty & The Beast, & Buddy Roberts (4/1/89)

Good match. Liked the early stuff with Adams and Jarrett psyching out Garvin, including Jarrett taking a play out of Garvin's book by pinching his ass. Overall, though, I think this wasn't as good as the Beauty & Beast/Adams & Brickhouse tag, and this feels more like an extra than a nomination.

Botswana Beast & Iceman King Parsons vs. Brickhouse Brown & “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich (3/24/89)

Damn, and I thought Mike Knox's running crossbody was impressive! Wish we could've seen the finish a bit more clearly, but at least there was a finish this time. This was a blast and moves forward easily.
