Posted November 24, 200816 yr comment_5435916 Lumberjack Elimination Match w/straps for the World Class Six-Man Tag Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy, Michael “PS” Hayes, & Buddy Roberts) © vs. Steve Simpson, Kerry & Lance Von Erich (5/4/86) Kevin can’t wrestle due to having his arm in a sling so Simpson steps in his place. Good stuff at the start with Kerry & Gordy with Gordy hitting a cross body block off the top rope but Kerry rolled over for a nearfall followed up with a fun slugfest. Hayes would then take a beating inside and outside the ring with the straps across his back as Fritz was laying in the shots. Birds would recover though and manhandled Simpson before he could tag in Kerry who would clean house on all the Birds but would eat a double clothesline by Gordy & Hayes and was eliminated. Simpson would then get pounded again with Gordy just working him over before Buddy hit an elbow off the top rope to eliminate him leaving Lance alone against Gordy & Buddy. Gordy would continue his awesomeness here beating on Lance and hitting a sweet German Suplex before Lance would recover with a dropkick sending Gordy over the top rope as he was eliminated where he would get strapped. Lance then placed the iron claw on Buddy to get the win. This was pretty fun and I’m throwing it on the block.
May 20, 200916 yr comment_5439689 Kevin can't compete because of a separated shoulder, which kinda puts a dent in my interest right off the bat. And well, the match isn't anything special, anyhow. You can only watch Fritz whip a Freebird in the ass and make them hop around grabbing their butts so many times before it stops being funny (that number is "0", incidentally). June 3, 201015 yr comment_5451580 Fabulous Freebirds vs. Steve Simpson, Kerry & Lance Von Erich (Lumberjack Elimination Match) - The faces get the shine when Buddy is in there but when Gordy takes over on Simpson, they brutalize him pretty bad including tossing him to the lumberjacks. When Kerry gets in, he gets taken out quickly with a double clothesline. Oh shit, didn’t expect that. Freebirds dominate the next round but there is a glimmer of hope for the faces as Hayes gets smacked around outside by the lumberjacks. Fritz and Kevin are kicked out as lumberjacks for interfering. Hayes has things in control but Simpson reverses a rollup and Hayes is gone to even it up. First highlight of the tag has Gordy ending up outside getting strapped. However, it is a brief celebration for Simpson because Roberts would pin him shortly after. Lance takes some nasty knees from Roberts. Gordy gets thrown over the top rope and uses the claw on Buddy to win the 6-man titles. I think getting rid of Kerry Von Erich really hurt this match big time. There were some fun parts but not enough for me to support a nomination.
