Posted November 29, 200816 yr comment_5436061 DVD #2 1/15/82 Tiger Toguchi/Seiji Sakaguchi vs. Superstar Graham/Wahoo McDaniel - Lots of plodding around and clubbing. Superstar looked like a super-inflated G. Gordon Liddy at this point. Tiger Mask vs. Halcon '78 - This was OK, but Halcon didn't do a good job of establishing what he wanted to do offensively. So he came off as little more than a canvas on which Tiger Mask did his usual stuff. Antonio Inoki/Tatsumi Fujinami/Riki Choshu vs. SD Jones/Bad News Brown/Abby - Weird to think that 27 years after this match, Abdullah is the only member of the gaijin trio who's alive and kicking. This was two out of three falls and featured some decent in-peril work by Fujinami and Choshu. Not a standout match, however. 1/22/82 Tiger Mask/Kantaro Hoshino vs. Dynamite Kid/Bret Hart - Hoshino didn't bring his usual fire here and that left us with Tiger Mask getting his ass kicked most of the way and then winning with a roll-up out of nowhere. Let's just say that was an overused formula in TM matches. Riki Choshu/Seiji Sakaguchi vs. Animal Hamaguchi/Rusher Kimura - Nothing great and it ended abruptly with interference by Abdullah. Antonio Inoki/Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Bad News Allen/Abby - Nothing great and it ended in chaos with interference from Rusher Kimura. Hmmm, pattern?
