Posted November 30, 200816 yr comment_5436078 DVD #6 3/19/82 - Last two matches also appear on Classics 121 Tiger Mask/Hoshino vs. Blackman/Colosetti - Lots of lucha-influenced stuff in this one, which made it kind of fun if nothing more. Killer Khan vs. Andre the Giant - Andre really deteriorated quickly as he was still pretty mobile and believable as a force of nature at this point. This deteriorated into a brawl through the stands pretty quickly, and the brawl wasn't all that (though it did produce the amusing image of Andre swatting Khan with an umbrella.) Inoki vs. Fujinami - Good ending. After Inoki proved superior on the mat, Fujinami seized the advantage with kicks to the body and a double underhook suplex. He sent Inoki to the floor and hit a tope suicida. But Inoki countered with a suplex on the floor and hit Fujinami with an enzuigiri as he tried to climb back in, leading to the countout. If the body of the match had been exciting at all, I might have voted for it. 3/26/82 Tiger Mask vs. Colosetti - Little more than a squash. Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Killer Khan - Really good match. Fujinami was as good as anyone I've seen at "chop down the big guy" attacks. He focused on Khan's leg throughout, and Khan sold the damage unusually well (showing unsteadiness during his own moves, for example.) Khan also did well as the bear who could get himself out of trouble with a few swipes of his big paw. It became a little obvious after 20 minutes that they were going to a draw. But I didn't mind as they got across that they were attempting everything in their respective repertores to finish it. Nomination. Andre the Giant vs. Inoki - Hardly a match as they went right to the uncontrollable brawl and double countout.
