When accused of choking on a sleeper, he applied the hold on the ref to demonstrate its legality. Then, he showed what a real choke looked like on Khan. He also sold the damage from Khan's legwork masterfully. One thing I never quite got about Andre, based on his WWF work, was how expressive a performer he could be. He almost never lost, but they had the NJ fans believing it might happen as Andre hobbled around and Khan drilled him with his double Mongolian chops. When Andre finally caught him, the air went out of the place, but in a good way. Slam dunk nomination and the best match I've seen between these guys. Appears on NJ TV 4/2/82 and NJ Classics 122
May 26, 200916 yr comment_5439923 Wow, I just loved this match. It is weird to watch this match up with Khan as a babyface, but Andre is a great heel. I loved him ignoring Khan to yell at the crowd while Khan swatted away at him. Andre's leg selling was great too, as by the end you really bought Khan upsetting him. Right up there with the best Andre matches ever and a slamdunk pick

This isn’t a match between Khan and Andre; this is between Andre and the fans… until Khan kicks out of the pin form the failed slam attempt. Then, we get to the highlights that Childs mentioned. The choke sequence was awesome. It amazes me how we still see matches with giants where the most effective tactic is for the little guy to chop down the tree. It works here and it works today with Big Show matches. Andre’s selling is amazing here. He splashes Khan and sells the leg like death. There might be two Andre matches in my Top Ten. Insane
