In one great sequence, Tiger Mask did a bunch of flippy stuff to escape a headscissors and Dynamite grabbed him and just annihalated him with two straight backbreakers. I thought that epitomized his attitude in this match. It was like, "I'm not going to play clever with you anymore. I'm just going to break you." The finish, with Bret getting involved and Tiger Mask flipping Dynamite into the crowd out of desperation, set up the next match well. But this deserves to go on the set for its own virtues. Appears on NJ TV 7/23/82 and NJ Classics 127
August 13, 200916 yr comment_5442759 I am really having a hard time believing that DK is doing any damage to Sayama's legs when he'll be flipping and kicking any minute now. To turn around and work on DK's legs seems like a big waste of time. If either one attempts to sell a leg nywhere in this match, I'll give them credit. This one also didn't seem as crisp as there were notable spots like the dropkick that was supposed to shoot DK out of the ring but he couldn't clear the ropes. It piqued my interest after the aforemntioned backbreakers but he fails to continue to work on the back and the match just kind of rambles on until TM takes control. There were some big moves and big moments but structurally, this thing was a mess. the end was epic but no selling a tombstone on the concrete is cringe-worthy. I won't cry if this doesn't get put on the set.
August 21, 200916 yr comment_5443129 Finish was cool with the Bret interference, and there was some neat stuff but I think if we are going to leave off a TM v. Dynamite match this the one the should be left off
August 21, 200916 yr comment_5443152 Man I don't get Phil liking the finish as well Bret felt like a more pedestrian Mr Fuji with his interference and conference collision. Finish run really felt tacked on to me..
