Posted December 6, 200816 yr comment_5436227 DVD #16 8/6/82 - Matches also appear on Classics 128 Tiger Mask vs. Dynamite Kid - You know, this featured plenty of no selling, lots of my-turn-your turn work and scads of ideas picked up one moment and discarded the next. But it's one of the most famous match-ups in wrestling history, and they threw everything at each other full-force, so it's kind of hard to leave it off the set. Bob Backlund vs. Tatsumi Fujinami - I love Fujinami and respect Backlund, but this was boring as shit for long stretches. 8/13/82 Hiro Matsuda/Yatsu vs. The Grappler/Adrian Adonis - Quite forgettable. Tiger Mask/Hoshino vs. Dynamite Kid/Bret Hart - This offered plenty of fine action, but they didn't really pick up the intensity until just before the finish, when Tiger Mask did a crazy dive into the crowd. Not one of the better matches in the Bret/Dynamite/Sayama run, so no vote. Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Greg Valentine - Valentine attacked with his usual stiffness and forced Fujinami to meet him there, which was all to the good. Greg went after the leg to set up his figure four. Unfortunately, the crowd didn't react all that strongly when he applied it and Fujinami fought to escape. I guess they weren't that familiar with Valentine's arsenal. Fujinami then rallied and hit Valentine with his enziguiri/vertical suplex combo to win it. This didn't built into the kind of epic slugfest that it might have, but I'll toss it a low-end nomination. There's not much Valentine in NJ, so it's worth discussing at least,
