Posted December 6, 200816 yr comment_5436229 Valentine attacked with his usual stiffness and forced Fujinami to meet him there, which was all to the good. Greg went after the leg to set up his figure four. Unfortunately, the crowd didn't react all that strongly when he applied it and Fujinami fought to escape. I guess they weren't that familiar with Valentine's arsenal. Fujinami then rallied and hit Valentine with his enziguiri/vertical suplex combo to win it. This didn't build into the kind of epic slugfest that it might have, but I'll toss it a low-end nomination. There's not much Valentine in NJ, so it's worth discussing at least.
August 3, 200916 yr comment_5442452 I enjoyed this a bunch, and it had lots of smacking of each other, but I don't think this was as good as the Choshu v. Valentine match and we have a ton of better Fujinami, these guys had a 1979 match against each other which smokes this. Honestly the most memorable part was Dick Murdoch as a super enthusiastic second. So a No vote from me.
August 4, 200916 yr comment_5442516 I think this match was a bit lackluster, although Valentine used his reliably hard-hitting offense, which is always fun to watch. I wish Fujinami was given a little more offense to make the body of this match a little more interesting. I was surprised to see Fujinami go over so cleanly, so that was impressive. Still, I think again that you will have so many amazing NJ matches that this one should stay off, assuming the Valentine-Choshu match is on and hopefully a few other Valentine matches if possible.
