Posted December 10, 200816 yr comment_5436341 This was surprisingly good as everyone stepped up their efforts for the tag league final. Hogan and Khan both juiced within the first 10 minutes. Inoki did a very nice job selling some strong legwork by Khan and Toguchi. Hogan did a move off the top! He and Inoki hit their big stuff for the climactic win to send the crowd home happy. This wasn't as good as a lot of the main event tags later in the decade, but they made the most they could of it. So I'll give it a low-end nomination. Appears on NJ TV 12/10/82 and NJ Classics 135
August 15, 200916 yr comment_5442796 This felt like it went 10 minutes too long, you had the early parts with the juice that was cool, and the ending was nice with the big moves they all knocked out, but there were was this middle section that just dragged. I would like to see Tiger Toguchi make the set, as I have enjoyed him a lot, but I think this is a no.
August 15, 200916 yr comment_5442810 This is the second match where I disagreed with Phil tonight. And I liked this more than the Murdoch singles match. I din't feel anything dragged here. I thought the match felt a bit back and forth (this is part where this team controls for long period and then this is part where the other team controls for long period and then this is part where first team is back in control)...din't ever feel like it was building to a peak just going back and forward till someone could end it during their control section. But I liked the finish, liked all the work, and like these matches where Inoki is doing a lot of selling.
August 30, 200916 yr comment_5443546 Early on, I really enjoyed Tiger and Khan going to town on Hogan's cut. Just two big dudes punching and stomping to draw more blood. I mark out for that shit. Plus, Tiger has some nice punches. Always a plus. Fuck, when Khan blades, You gotta love Inoki and Hogan giving him a reciept and punching his bloody head. Kinda sucks when Tiger and Inoki were in the ring together except for one spot... Khan goes to climb the corner but Hogan shakes the ropes so he can't stabilize himself. Good shit. Tiger-Inoki was the match-up in the ring way too long but the leg work set up the nice Khan work where he bends Inoki's foot in some nasty positions. Great tag too when Inoki finally turns the tides on Khan only fr him to make the tag and ruin Inoki's good times. While I appreciate the leg work on Inoki, it did get a little dull at times. Same with Hogan working over Tiger. For being on the apron so long, he relied on that chinlock way too much. The work on Toguchi's arm was ok but this never really got back the excitement from the first ten minutes or so until the final two minutes. If the Andre/Goulet match was too short, this could have 5 minutes trimmed from it. This is a wierd spot where I agree with all of you guys... It was surprisingly good for who was involved. It went 5-10 minutes too long and peaked too soon. I liked the work on Inoki's leg and the doubl teams trying to draw more blood out. I'll go low-level nomination because of the failure to get back to the early excitement until the final moments.
