Terry Gordy, Buddy Roberts, & Chick Donovan vs. Skandor Akbar, The Missing Link, & Mr. X (Loser Leaves Town Elimination Match) Everyone who gets eliminated has to leave town. I don't know if any of them actually do, as I'm not sure when exactly this match is taking place, but whatever. Everyone gets eliminated except Gordy, so take that for what you will. I have no idea who Mr. X is. Match is nothing special. Ric Flair vs. Kerry Von Erich (NWA World Title Match) Maybe I'm getting jaded, but this didn't seem all that remarkable compared to their other matches. Solid enough bout, but I've seen too much more interesting stuff to really get strongly behind it. Mike Von Erich & Billy Haynes vs. Gino Hernandez & Jake Roberts Not a lot to write about this match. I think we can just keep going. Kerry Von Erich vs. Rip Oliver JIP. Not much shown, but what's here is fine. Mike Von Erich & Billy Haynes vs. Gino Hernandez & Jake Roberts Same match as before, just JIP. Iceman King Parsons vs. Rip Oliver I thought this was pretty great. I hadn't seen much of Oliver before, but he was fantastic, took all these great high-speed bumps, especially off of Iceman's armdrags, and was really vicious on offense. Iceman was hard-hitting as always, and his missed charge to the corner leading to the finish was one of the nastiest looking corner bumps I've ever seen. Shoulderbreakers usually seem weird as finishers, but after that bump, you totally buy that Parsons wouldn't be able to go on. I get the feeling that if these two had a 2/3 falls TV main event against each other, it could make my top ten. I mean, this was really high-end stuff for the time and relatively low profile they were given. As is, still feels like a solid nomination. The Fantastics vs. The Midnight Express (American Tag Team Titles Match) These two teams had a million matches against each other, and they were almost all great. This was no exception. Rogers was just getting killed in the FIP section, and the MX were just mugging him the whole time. Also has a classic Cornette temper tantrum at the end. Easy nomination. Kevin Von Erich vs. Chris Adams (Lumberjack Match) This and their Thanksgiving match were wall-to-wall action. Both really had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Shame they were both about five minutes long. Definitely one of those situations where I'd usually hold off on nominating the match because you just know they'll have a rematch where they actually get a decent amount of time that will be the best thing you've ever seen in a wrestling ring. Still, as long as Kris and Shoe are giving it the go-ahead, I'll follow suit, but it is a borderline endorsement.
