February 1st: Soka city sport healthy city commemoration gymnasium

'88 top of the super junior league match / Koshinaka vs Hase - A clip of the last few minutes. Looked good and I think it's on the commercial tape of the jr. tourney in more complete form.

Choshu vs Orton - This started with great promise as Orton really took the fight to Choshu. But it ended abruptly after Choshu hit a lariat and decided to obliterate Orton with chair shots.

Kimura, Fujinami vs Hart, Sawyer - Some fun wackiness from Buzz, but Fujinami and Kimura never treated him and Owen like real threats.

Seiji Sakaguchi, Antonio Inoki vs Vader, Masa Saito - I really enjoyed this. Sakaguchi was the first native to stand toe to toe and trade bombs with Vader. And Vader bumped and sold more than in his previous tags with Saito. This was the match where I felt like the fight was joined against this new monster. So I'll throw it on the block.

February 7th: The Sapporo Nakajima physical education center annex

'88 Top of the Super Juniors Victory match / Koshinaka vs Hase - I never got into this. I like both guys, but they just did a bunch of stuff here without much logical flow from one sequence to the next. Hase had a ton of offense but seemed prone to go, go, go with it at this stage instead of letting anything breath. Koshinaka often worked well with guys like that but seemed to fall into Hase's flow in this case.

IWGP Tag Championship / Kimura, Fujinami vs SS Machine, Choshu - Lots of these tags from early in 1988 had a throwaway feel.

Inoki vs Vader - They failed to build on the tag from the week before in which Vader showed some vulnerability to Inoki's offense. This was kind of boring, with Inoki showing little fire.
