Posted January 31, 200916 yr comment_5436981 This went less than 10 minutes but was a good little match. Yamada took control early with some armwork and a nice dive to the floor. Hase answered with some brutal work on Yamada's midsection -- gutbusters, a double stomp from the second rope, etc. Then they traded good-looking high spots in the build to the finish. Despite the brevity, they didn't just reel off move after move without any build. I'll give it a nomination though not a slam dunk.
July 13, 200916 yr comment_5441908 2/4/88 Hiroshi Hase vs. Keiichi Yamada (Sky A 95) - Early on, Yamada works on Hase’s arm like he attacked Koshinaka’s foot. They mix in a couple of highspots to keep it flowing but Yamada is ace at making holds and matwork mean something in a junior match. Shit, after the work on the arm., they break out some huge spots with Yamada leaping from the top turnbuckle to Hase out on the floor. Back inside, back to work on the arm. He is mixing it up here too using the arm bar, hammerlock, a chicken wing. Hase eventually turns things around and starts destroying Yamada’s rbs. Badass, still selling the arm. However, he gets comfortable, tries an elbow off the top, misses and remembers that his arm is mincemeat. Badass. Both guys work toward the ending with neither being able to execute after going to the top rope but Hase catches Yamada in a flash roll-up. Not very long at about 14 minutes but I enjoyed it. Strong Nomination.
August 12, 200916 yr comment_5442723 I didn't like this as much as you guys did. Felt it was way too "your turn, my turn" at the end. Last couple of minutes Yamada hits a tombstone, Hase gets up and hits a move, Hase hits a suplex, Yamada gets up and hits a move. These guys were good athletes and there are some cool spots. But I am going No.
