DVD #7

----------------------------------------------------

May 5th: Ogaki castle Hall

Koshinaka, Kimura vs Hase, Saito - Fairly enjoyable but it was pretty obvious all along that Koshinaka would be dead meat once Saito isolated him. Saito and Kimura produced fun interactions. Kimura always boxed Saito and Saito always tolerated it for a bit only to murder Kimura with a suplex or clothesline.

Handicap match / Kobayashi, Saito vs Vader - Squash.

Fujinami vs Fernandez - Solid enough but it never really took off.

May 8th: Daybreak colloseum

IWGP Heavyweight throne decisive match / Fujinami vs Vader - This was really short but really heated and kind of awesome. It was like they compacted everything from their previous match into about six minutes with more fire from both sides and these great cuts to Fujinami's wife and child, looking concerned for his safety. I wouldn't usually nominate such a short match, but this should move forward.

May 27th: Miyagi prefecture sport center IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship /

Hase vs Hart - JIP. They produced some sharp-looking work, and Owen won the title. But less than five minutes made TV, and that's not enough. It could be an extra.

IWGP Heavyweight Championship / Tatsumi Fujinami vs Riki Choshu - This was their best match since the 1983 heyday of the rivalry. They eschewed their normal matwork segment in favor of a more ragged, brawling approach. Fujinami either legit hurt his ankle or did a beautiful sell job after stumbling about 15 minutes in. Choshu went right after the injured leg until the ref and ringside officials stopped the match. Fujinami's desperation to continue combined with Choshu's relentless attack made for great drama. Another slam dunk nomination in a great string of outings by Fujinami.
