This was their best match since the 1983 heyday of the rivalry. They eschewed their normal matwork segment in favor of a more ragged, brawling approach. Fujinami either legit hurt his ankle or did a beautiful sell job after stumbling about 15 minutes in. Choshu went right after the injured leg until the ref and ringside officials stopped the match. Fujinami's desperation to continue combined with Choshu's relentless attack made for great drama. Another slam dunk nomination in a great string of outings by Fujinami.

Fujinami is on his game here. He controls ffor the first few minutes. Choshu tries the Sharpshooter the first time Fujinami is on his back but he doesn't get the chance. I love the way Fujinami ely fights off the hold and hits the figure-four to punish Choshu for his disrespect. Seriously, Choshu is being destroyed here (bloodied up for good measure) and Fujinami succeeds in making Choshu look like an underdog. When he hits the two back suplexes, it seems like a last ditch effort the same way you feel for Fujinami when he has to face Vader. The stumble looked awkward and I think it hurt the match. I liked Choshu viciously attacking the leg instantly reversingg the rroles of the first half of the match and Fujinami actually clinging to Choshu's ankles in desparation. I mean shit, the guy worked ten minutes wearing a sock. I don't like the ending which will hurt my final ranking but this is a nomination.
