Posted February 7, 200916 yr comment_5437088 I always end up nominating their matches. This started out less heated than their previous match as they mostly worked holds and tried for submissions. That stuff was good but the end run was great. Choshu knocked Fujinami off the apron with a lariat and Fujinami started bleeding heavily. But every time Choshu tried to finish him with another lariat, Fujinami parried with a dropkick. Fujinami finally took control with a sequence of Inoki moves -- no coincidence given that they were pushing Fujinami as the new top guy. The last few minutes felt desperate and important from both sides. I liked the show of respect from Choshu after the match. This should move forward.
August 21, 200916 yr comment_5443135 Started out a little slow, but that only added to the greatness of the awesome finish run. Fujinami constantly cutting him off with dropkicks was awesome, and I loved the way he avoided the lariat, as he knew bloodied up like he was he would be finished. Slam Dunk and the best thing I have watched so far today.
August 21, 200916 yr comment_5443150 This felt like the most Fujinami'ish of the Fujinami v Choshu matches that I've seen and I liked the early matwork stuff and thought that was important in terms of building to me loosing my mind popping for every inside cradle variation.
September 6, 200916 yr comment_5443886 I wasn't digging the early matwork as much as you guys. However, that was 5 minutes that will lower it in my ranking but once Choshu started focusing on the arm and Fujinami started attacking the leg, all was good. It made Choshu's struggle to flip the Sharpshooter more meaningful. You gotta think that Choshu escaping from the dragon sleeper was due in part to his work earlier on. Good stuff. The last five minutes were as strong as any match on this set. Great stuff and another easy nomination.
