Posted February 9, 200916 yr comment_5437107 This started with the cool visual of Vader barreling over his smoking headpiece to get at Choshu. It's not hard to guess how the match went; they just blasted each other. Choshu hit some nice throws and a vertical suplex on the outside. They crafted another effective countout ending that left both guys looking strong. I'm going to put this on the block for now with the caveat that a future match-up between the two could push it off the set.
August 14, 200916 yr comment_5442777 Lots of cool things to like about this one: the initial flurry by both guys with the cool vader visual of jumping through the smoke, choshu countering Vader with the hip toss out of the bearhug and Samoan Drop out of the charge, Vader punching choshu in the face. Compared to the Inoki match, this one felt more like non-stop action to me and it lasted 3-4 minutes longer. vader diving off the apron onto the floor was a sight to behold but the finish to this one wasn't as good as the Inoki match. I would also like to see this ggo forward but not a slam dunk by any means. Still, gotta love Vader punching dudes in the face.
August 15, 200916 yr comment_5442806 I loved the opening, and it had a fine finish, but I was expecting more from these guys. These guys are both such great sprint workers, I was hoping for something more on the level of Choshu v. Hash or Vader v. Fujinami. It feels like these guys must have had better matches against each other, because I was a little let down. I am going No
August 15, 200916 yr Author comment_5442813 I liked their 6/27/89 match better, but we need to find that in good VQ. Maybe it'll be in the new batch of stuff from Dan.
August 15, 200916 yr comment_5442814 6/27 is not in the classics I picked up. We'll have to find the TV episode in the next three weeks or so.
