The 1981 stuff starts with Chavo Guerrero cutting a promo on the Dynamic Duo and Scott Casey promising to destroy Eddy Mansfield. Tully Blanchard vs. Luke Hatfield (June 1981) Squash. “Continental Lover” Eddy Mansfield & “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers vs. Tiger Conway Jr. & Relampago Leon (June 1981) Tiger & Eddy were fun here but the match itself was just okay. Tank Patton vs. Mario Gonzalez (June 1981) Squash. Then we get promos by Paul Boesch, Eddy Mansfield, Tank Patton, & Tully Blanchard. Scott Casey & Chavo Guerrero vs. “Red Dog” Larry Lane & Tug Taylor (June 1981) Eddy Mansfield is at ringside to keep the faces occupied and the fans to chant for Casey. This had some fun action with the fans going nuts for everything and the heels get DQed for double-teaming Casey then they have to duck out as Casey tries to attack them with the ring bell. Handicap Match: Ivan Putski vs. Henry Gordinho & Jesse Tanner (June 1981) Squash followed up by a Putski promo. The next show starts with Gene Goodson fucking up the Funk’s names calling Dory by Terry Funk Jr. and Terry having to get him straight. Dory then says that he and his brother are Christian athletes which is awesome. Terry then buries Tully which was more hilarious. Definite extra material. “The Lawman” Don Slatton vs. Henry Garcia (Fall 1980) Slatton pulls out a fucking gun and shoots it in the air to start the match and that was fucking awesome. Garcia supposedly replaces Tor Kamata and Gene Goodson tells the story that Slatton was Buford Pusser’s tag partner when he was wrestling which was cool. Slatton wins easily. Frank Dusek vs. Tom Jones (Fall 1980) Dusek is still young here and the fans show their respect for him by throwing ice at him in the ring. The match goes to a draw. Dory Funk Jr. vs. Carlos Rodriguez (Fall 1980) Dory looks good here. Gene Goodson interviews Tully Blanchard next before the Funks come out to interrupt and Terry was awesome here. El Gran Markus vs. Juan Reynosa (Fall 1980) There was some sloppy stuff here. Markus attacked David Manning after the match leading to Jose Lothario who was doing color to come into the ring to attack Markus. Lothario went for the mask but Gino Hernandez would hit him with something with Lothario visibly blading after the shot. They rip at his clothes as they attack him as well with Markus biting on his forehead. Wild stuff as no one saves Lothario and the fans are going nuts throwing shit in the ring. This is extra material. Then we get clips of Dory beating Tully for the Southwest Heavyweight Title. A bandaged up Lothario cuts a promo afterwards vowing revenge in Spanish.
