Posted February 25, 200916 yr comment_5437710 This was unremarkable early, but the intensity picked up with a hot middle section between SS Machine and Takano. Machine got the better of it with a diving headbutt and Takano proceeded to take a real ass kicking from team Choshu. He did a nice job of flopping around as he took lariats, suplexes and piledrivers galore. Fujinami and Kimura interceded enough to keep things interesting, and Choshu hit a nasty lariat on one of them to protect the final pin. Hot crowd as well. This might not make it in the end, but it's worth watching so I'll move it along. Ginnetty 1988 Season, Disc 20
September 6, 200916 yr comment_5443894 I watched this with Phil as well and Phil was much higher on the match than I was. In fact, while I liked the match, my thoughts echo Childs to a T. I am still coming off the high that was Inoki-Choshu so maybe i am not as enthused but with the hot crowd, solid work with no cringe-worthy moments and a sweet end run, I'll back the nomination.
September 6, 200916 yr comment_5443895 I really enjoyed this, which is impressive considering I was coming off a Choshu v. Inoki high. Lots of neat little things in the body of the match, SSM high backdrop take, Takano's wild miss of a spinkick, the Kimura punch combo off the hot tag. Then you have your really sweet finish run added on. Good shit this should make it.
