Posted February 26, 200916 yr comment_5437731 Here's the fun little gem from this disc. Aguayo threw all of his shit with gusto and nailed sentons left and right in this one. He and Canek had good chemistry with Koshinaka, but the best shit came from the Perro/Yamada match-up. Yamada was already so good. All of his moves had snap, he made his opponent's stuff look brutal and he just had a gift for timing his kickouts and comebacks. Aguayo, meanwhile, ripped off these satanic screams every time he hit something big. Good stuff. It goes on the block. Ginnetty 1988 Season, Disc 23
June 11, 200916 yr comment_5440562 Sort of a blown finish, but everything else was great. Really came away from this wanting to see Yamada v. Perro in a UWA hair match. Both guys ruled so much, Yamada's dive into the crowd was especially awesome. Should make the set
June 12, 200916 yr comment_5440600 I've dug all the Perro in NJ. He does this neat thing where he'll kind of throw in a comedy spot and then go right back into brawling without loosing a beat. This was probably the best of his matches here and should move forward.
June 15, 200916 yr comment_5440751 10/7/88 El Canek/Perro Aguayo vs. Shiro Koshinaka/Keiichi Yamada (Sky A 109) - This was fun but I think I liked the Villano 3 match much more and Perro Aguayo has had better performances in New Japan. Same with Yamada. He is at his best getting his ass kicked but there are better ass-whippings that will pop up on the set. This is one of those matches where everything was done well but it was also done better in other places. Don’t remember seeing Canek yet in NJ. Maybe there aren’t any better Canek performances. I really enjoy the Perro-Yamada pairing however. Are there any singles matches between the two?
September 21, 200916 yr comment_5444357 Once again, enjoying the Perro-Yamada matchup. I know these are lucha representatives but I don't dig Canek flying out fof the ring on light dropkicks. Maybe if he rolled out to regain his senses and not act like it was death. Perro was really good though. What was it with Perro trying to execute a Choshu-level clothesline and Koshinaka no selling that shit only for Yamada to get laid out with it 30 seconds later? That fucking dive by Liger was choice as was the sick baseball slide. Loving Perro in the match. Canek doing a half ass kick on Kosh a couple of minutes later was anti-climatic though. Watching this a second time, I stand by my original thoughts. Yamada-Peroo was even more choice than I originally indicated but the match was a mess with an awkward finish. Bring on the Yamada-Perro singles match.
