Getting heat working over DVE leg was well done. This is worked like a Souther Tag with heat and shine spots. Kevin's run in was super charged. I'll give this a luke warm nomination.
August 3, 200916 yr comment_5442486 World Class Six-Man Tag Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds © vs. David, Kerry, & Mike Von Erich (1/30/84) Okay this is hilarious as Gordy & Hayes are banned from Texas but they are back for this match because the Von Erich’s want the titles and if they win the match then Buddy would be banned as well. David Manning announces that Kevin was taken out by the Birds in the back and would be replaced by Mike with the Von Erichs running in the ring like maniacs chasing off the Birds. The crowd is nuts for everything during the pre-match and for the action in the ring too as the Von Erich’s were going full force. Both teams were of course working very crisply and I’m sure that Mike was like a fucking crowbar in there because everything he did looked awkward and hard. After some back and forth action, the Birds would get the advantage by working over David’s right leg furiously. David was solid as the FIP but god damn Mike had to get the hot tag and started working over the Birds but thankfully Gordy started beating his ass until Kerry got the hot tag and showed how it’s done. The action would again swing back and forth with both teams getting long amounts of time having the advantage. Kerry would have Buddy in a standing stomach claw before Kevin would show up bloody and bandaged and kicking ass all over the Birds for the DQ finish. The finish was cheap but it made sense due to the angle and the action here was really solid so this is an easy nomination.
March 26, 201015 yr comment_5448636 Von Erich team is supposed to be Kevin, David, and Kerry, but the 'Birds jumped Kevin backstage. They are quite pleased about this until they find out Mike will be taking his place, and then they freak out. I was OK with Mike Von Erich as overmatched, underskilled rookie trying to live up to the family name, but now we have a real problem. The Freebirds being terrified of Mike, to the point of nearly walking out of the match, is absurd. They took out the most experienced and skilled Von Erich and got the least (and the least prepared for this match, presumably) in his place. Mission accomplished, right? Right? Anyway, if you've ever wanted to see a six-man Von Erich team that had both David and Mike on it, this is pretty much your only chance as far as I know. Otherwise, you can skip Fritz forcibly shoving Mike down the road to suicide and watch something else.
