Posted April 20, 200916 yr comment_5438624 USA Jr. Heavyweight Title Tournament – Finals: Eric Embry vs. Mando Guerrero (7/25/83) This was a good scientific back-and-forth match before Mando tried to leapfrog Embry but Embry would catch him and basically gave him a spinebuster. Mando sold this as a nut shot but he never hit him there and Embry asked for the match to be stopped with Jack Howell agreeing and Embry won the title. After the match, Embry & Howell were interviewed by Steve Stack and Embry starts his heel turn. Sweetan then comes out for a promo and he has already started his heel turn calling the babyfaces a bunch of whiners. Jaggers then comes out for a promo with letters from fans wanting him to destroy Luke Williams followed by clips of Jaggers as the Midnight Express from last week. Then we get a promo with Jonathan Boyd in the hospital still recovering from his near fatal car wreck with Boyd vowing to destroy Jaggers. Extra material. “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan vs. Dusty Woods (7/25/83) Sweet Brown Sugar does color commentary here and Sweetan taunts him from the ring as he destroys Woods. Sweetan then tries to give him another piledriver after the match but Sugar jumps in the ring. Scott Casey vs. Luke Williams (7/25/83) This is nothing but a fight as both men just pound on each other with punches and kicks nothing fancy. Luke bleeds from a previous cut and Casey would take off his boot pounding on Luke sending him to the floor where he would grab a steel chair to whack himself over the head a few times before throwing powder in Casey’s eyes for the DQ. Williams is crazy here until Jaggers attacks him with an axehandle sending him running as the crowd goes nuts. This is extra material. Tully comes out for a promo to start the next show talking about Tiger Conway Jr. stealing his title and how his kind always steals. Quite the promo here and extra material. Luke Williams vs. Dusty Woods (8/1/83) Squash. Then we get clips of Jaggers vs. Luke Williams from San Antonio on 7/30/83 with Sweetan fully turning heel giving Jaggers a piledriver. “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers vs. Iron Sheik (8/1/83) Sheiky makes his debut here as an ally of Luke’s and they pound on Jaggers to start the match. The crowd is hot for this and it isn’t long before Luke jumps in for the DQ. Buddy Moreno runs out to even the sides and they send the heels running. “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan vs. Cocoa Samoa (8/1/83) Tiger Jr. comes out for a promo during the match and jumps in the ring wanting to fight with Sweetan starting an impromptu brawl. “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers & Buddy Moreno vs. Ali Bey & Black Gordman (8/8/83) Jaggers wins using his “Hangman” clothesline. Next we get clips of Sweetan vs. Conway Jr. from 8/6/83 in San Antonio. Then we get clips of Tully vs. Casey from 8/6/83 in San Antonio with Sweetan piledriving Casey on the floor. Sweetan comes out for another promo wanting Tully and calling the babyfaces whiners. “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan vs. Cocoa Samoa (8/8/83) This is a rematch from last week since that match got interrupted by Conway. This was an okay match with Sweetan killing Samoa with a Hot Shot and a piledriver. Jonathan Boyd cuts a promo in the ring on a crutch with Williams & Sheiky where he blames Jaggers’ dog for his car wreck and he wants his hide. Extra material. Iron Sheik & Luke Williams vs. Mando Guerrero & El Santo Negro (8/8/83) The faces put up a fight but the heels are too rough for them. Jaggers & Moreno would run out after the match and again send the heels running. Tully Blanchard vs. Roger Hatfield (8/8/83) Squash and Tully talks about Sweetan getting rid of the challengers to his title after the match but he isn’t scared of Sweetan. Sweetan comes out for a promo to start the next show calling out Tully. Tully Blanchard vs. Henry Garcia (8/15/83) Tully wins easily using a nice backdrop suplex hold to win then cuts a promo after the match about all the challengers wanting him. Next is a video for Adrian Street to Tiptoe through the Tulips by Tiny Tim. Jonathan Boyd then cuts a promo explaining the rules of a Sheepherders Chain Match. Extra material. “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan vs. El Santo Negro (8/15/83) This match got a little time with Sweetan using some matwork but would finish off the masked man after a piledriver. Sweetan would then return to attack Scott Casey as he was wrestling Black Gordman but Casey would get a sleeper hold on Sweetan with the crowd going nuts. The locker room would empty to break this up. Luke Williams would then attack Buddy Moreno with a dog chain after a tag match with Jaggers who was laid out on the floor. Jaggers would then attack Williams with his axehandle.

March 28, 201015 yr comment_5448713 USA Jr. Heavyweight Title Tournament – Finals: Eric Embry vs. Mando Guerrero (7/25/83) Man, that wasn't a low blow. Tully Blanchard Interview Tully talks shit about all the faces and says that Tiger Conway Jr.'s kind always steals. Maybe extra. “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan vs. Cocoa Samoa (8/8/83) Rematch from the week before. This was great, with both guys trading some nasty shots and Cocoa busting out a little bit of cool technical stuff as well. Not really worth nominating. Boyd promo w Luke/Iron Sheik "WARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!" Extra. Iron Sheik & Luke Williams vs. Mando Guerrero & El Santo Negro (8/8/83) Really good fast-paced match with both teams pouring on the offense. If Santo Negro had more of a comeback after getting the hot tag, I might have put this on the block. Adrian Street video It's all footage from Memphis, so I can't really back it for this set. Boyd promo re chain match Extra.
