Posted May 25, 200916 yr comment_5439911 Tremendous match, the matwork here was so violent, with both guys wrenching the holds. Corleone was a bruiser really heavy handed with his strikes. I liked all of the Canek interactions with Thez, and all of the suplexes were executed with such force. Best match on the Valentine days card which was an amazing card. NJC 120

July 24, 201312 yr comment_5552991 El Canek vs. Don Corleone, 2/14/82 (NJC 120) - I am kind of torn in the middle. At times it looked like they were channeling Dean Malenko vs. William Regal (which is a good thing) and at other times it felt like Dory vs. Jack Brisco (which is not). Final fall, Canek has an injured back so Corelaone attacks it with gusto and I am all for that. Canek evens it up despite the work on his back and I really enjoyed the final run. I don’t think this was high end but it was a SOLID NOMINATION.
July 25, 201312 yr comment_5553094 UWA World Heavyweight Title - SR: Lou Thesz: Canek © vs. Don Corleone (2/14/82) Don Corleone is Tony Rocco under the hood and this may be the biggest match of his career. Great tight matwork here to start as Canek was bringing the best out of the grizzled veteran Rocco. Rocco was really good here at delivering punishment as well and he brought a unique hard hitting style which brought out the aggression in Canek who was even having issues with Thesz. Canek dropping Rocco with a fucking screwdriver (front piledriver) was great. Rocco really worked over Canek's back but Canek made a fun comeback including hitting a big tope to the mud before hitting a big German Suplex for the win. Damn good match and a fairly easy nomination.
