Posted May 30, 200916 yr comment_5440085 This was a bunch of fun, Fujiwara works most of the match and has pretty sweet mat wrestling exchanges with Hase and strike exchanges with Choshu. Not a super high end match, but feels like it belongs on the set. (SKY-A 118)
June 7, 200916 yr comment_5440363 I dug the matwork section between Fujiwara and Hase, which led us to discuss whether Fujiwara could have made Shelton Benjamin into a great worker (I said yes, Phil and Tom seemed uncertain.) I liked that Fujiwara used his Santoesque spinny mat counter to set up the pin. I could see this one falling off in the final cutdown, but I liked it enough to move it forward for now.
September 7, 200916 yr comment_5443922 Early on, I wasn't energized by the work until Fujiwara and Kimura start attacking Hase's leg. Choshu trying to do to Fujiwara what they did to Hase was pretty cool. This is when they start the strike exchanges. HOwever, they finally get Fujiwara on the gorund and set up great for the Sharpshooter. Great tag work by Choshu and Hase. No one really sold the leg work after going through the whole match getting my hopes up and the flash pin was kind of ut of nowhere. Man, this was warming up to be one of my favorite matches, even with the dead crowd, but then it just ended. I like the match but it didn't have the great build/peak that would give it a strong endorsement. I am not excited to move this forward.
