Posted May 10, 200520 yr comment_2068033 http://home.comcast.net/%7Ewrespowr/videos.htm Tim Noel has about 28 volumes (mostly 4 hrs each, some of the early volumes from 1992 are 2 hrs each) covering the entire existance of SMW. With the Mid South collection from Barnett, I would like to try to get a comprehensive SMW set together. Noel charges 12.00 per tape but when you order 6 or more, Bulk discounts start to take affect. The 4 hr comps are dubbed in LP. Any interest? Lynch has every TV show (masters without the comml placements) but would be expensive. We could fill in the comml tape holes that Noel doesn't include on his comps from Lynch (I think the 6-8 comm tapes they release would fit on to 2 8 hr tapes). Anyway, just a thought to think over. Tim
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2068274 It's something I'd definitely be interested in doing. SMW was also famous for having really good handheld shows (the few handheld matches I have support that and they're all good camera shot as well), so maybe that's something we can look into as well. I just don't know of anyone who has them besides RF, and we all know the story there.
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2068392 It is going to take me 6 months jsut to get through the Mid-South and the NWA you are going t osend Tim. Not to mention the WWF tv from some guy. SMW is down on the totem pole at this point in time.
May 10, 200520 yr Author comment_2068397 Noel tapes a bunch of the spot shows himself and Lynch has copies from him. Those will be easy to get. No worries there. Never have to get anything from RF Video ever again... Tim
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2069758 Dude, I put in my two weeks notice on Thursday. I think I'll take the summer off
May 10, 200520 yr Author comment_2069771 If you give me a place to live, I'll quit my job for the summer and just watch/dub wrestling!
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2069804 As long as you don't mind changing diapers, going out to get my wife's food and sleeping on a cot in the shed... come on down!
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2069949 Oh, that Smoky Mountain comedy! Is there anyone else that we might not have considered who'd be interested in going in on this? That's a question for those who haven't replied in the thread, but that are interested in scoring some footage.
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2069988 I was looking at his wishlist and I have quite a bit of the stuff on his wishlist. I may have to contact this guy.
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2074374 I'm considering going in on this, but I'm still in the process of working out multiple deals with Helmet. I'm also in the process of converting my WWF, WCW, shoot interview, and UFC tapes to DVD, so I could be tied up for QUITE a while doing that.
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2074541 I emailed Noel with a list of stuff I have that he wants. I may also dangle the Barnett discs in front of him.
May 11, 200520 yr comment_2081986 After this, then we can hit Barnett up for his Memphis collection perhaps, although looking through the listing, I discovered that I have most of what he has, and the Memphis I'm wanting seems to only be available through McAdam, although I haven't finished looking through Warburton's listing yet.
May 11, 200520 yr comment_2083082 Anything we can get on DVD rather than VHS is a-ok with me since it means I have to spend less time converting.
May 11, 200520 yr comment_2083108 McAdam is doing DVD now, but he hasn't lowered his prices one iota. He's eventually going to have to do so if he wants to keep making sales.
May 11, 200520 yr Author comment_2083165 Barnett's Memphis stuff is so hit and miss in terms of quality as well as organization. With Will ordering Lawler/Flair from Noel, I am sure we can find a better source down the line. I am looking at Barnett AAA DVD's from 1993-1995 as well as his 1993 Japan TV set eventually. Now way down the line, I would like to get Lynch to comp EMLL from 1992-1997 but that will cost a ton so it is just a future thought right now. Tim
May 20, 200520 yr comment_2206135 Loss and I have been talking about Barnett's AAA comps for some time now. Maybe with the Some Guy comps, I'll have some trade bait to acquire a good chunk of those from someone. As for the EMLL, I would be very interested in going in on some quality lucha. The ideal time would be in early August when I get the summer school check. By that time, I should have a large amount of my VHS transferred, a large chunk of Loss's stuff transferred and the NWA transferred.
May 20, 200520 yr comment_2208394 I've got a ton of Barnett's stuff (the 1970s Japan stuff, a fair chunk of the lucha, all the NWA and Mid South) and the 18 Mid Atlantic discs that Cornette rescued. I guess a bunch of you have the same stuff, but if there's anything I can add to sweeten the trading deal I'd be happy to, as well as chucking in some money, as long as someone can convert them to DVD for me. Let me know.
May 21, 200520 yr comment_2212355 Mortimer, if you didn't read the thread in I Just Copped, I am definitely interested. Also, I have the ability to convert from VHS to DVD so that is not an issue.
May 26, 200520 yr comment_2277187 Oh, and I've got the first 6 volumes of his 1993-95 AAA comps (12 discs). There's a whole lot o' goodness on them bad boys! EDIT: I'm not just saying this shit to be all "I'm Johnny Lots-O-DVDs", but I'm well up for getting these SMW things so if my collection can be used for that, all the better.
May 26, 200520 yr comment_2281334 Mortimer, don't feel bad for pointing out what you own. That is the entire point of this sub-forum... to be able to organize our lists of matches and shows worth pursuing. If we can all help each other out here then more power to ALL of us. Each time you mention something you acquire or already have, it is just one more thing to go on my wishlist and I know exactly where to find it.
May 28, 200520 yr comment_2305184 One of my regular traders in Austria has a bunch of SMW events and house shows, and as I'd be able to trade him for some of it, it wouldn't cost as much: www.wrestlinglibrary.net So if this is any help to people...
August 10, 200520 yr comment_3130265 I'm new to the board this is actually my first post. I have SMW TV Masters volume 1-33...These were purchased directly from SMW back in the day. I also acquired 15-20 master fan cams of SMW mainly through fanweek and Goldenweek in 1994. The footage is amazing. Contact me if you're interested. Thanks, Todd [email protected]
February 15, 200619 yr comment_4513799 *bump* I remember that Tim and I had planned to go in on this together and get all the SMW, but I think Will said he was going to try to trade with Tim Noell and get it all, so we never did. Since that didn't happen, I'd like to get all the SMW sometime soon, maybe next month.
February 15, 200619 yr comment_4513899 When I talked to Tim about it many months ago, he said that SMW could wait. However, KZ has the first 66 volumes of SMW TV from master copies. Plus, Ryan Robb has a ton of SMW from masters as well. I have been disappointed with a few TIm Hoel discs including the Ivan Koloff shoot and the Crockett Cup 1986. I would recommend getting it from another source.
