Posted June 7, 200916 yr comment_5440322 Antonio Inoki & Seiji Sakaguchi vs. Tatsumi Fujinami & Kengo Kimura (12/6/85) Really strong pace to start off with Sakaguchi getting the better of both Fujinami and Kimura. It slows down a bit but Kimura and Fujinami working well together. At one point, Sakaguchi reverses a Fujinami figure-four so Kimura goes in and kicks Sakaguch I in the face in order to reverse it. He gets his receipt later as Kimura has Inoki in the Sharpshooter and he gets popped in the face by Sakaguchi. Later still, Sakaguchi has Kimura in a Boston Crab and he gtes a clothesline from Fujinami to break the hold. Little things like that are why I love wrestling. This match also makes it clear that Inoki should always be on offense. He doesn’t sell particularly well and doesn’t show any emotion but his offense always gets a great reaction and looks pretty crisp. I also have to give credit to the Inoki/Sakaguchi team working much better together in the 2nd half. This was just an awesome tag and a slam-dunk. Easy Top 20 for me. (NJ Classics 218)
June 17, 200916 yr comment_5440829 This was great. Sakaguchi and Kimura gave particularly inspired performances as the lesser guys on each team, but really, everyone worked hard. It never lagged in 30 minutes. I liked the ending with Inoki hauling out the big guns to finish Fujinami and Fujinami refusing to go down. An easy yes vote.
August 15, 200916 yr comment_5442794 I don' t think this is top 20, but it was damn good this was the best I have seen Sakaguchi look, as he was at level of everyone else in the match. I loved his back suplex which was just brutal looking. Draw finish hurts this a bit, but this should make a set for sure.
