Posted June 9, 200916 yr comment_5440483 The Cobra vs. Hiro Saito (2/6/85) - I really enjoyed this. Saito has enough of a punishing style of attack that it makes a nice contrast to Cobra’s Jr. style. Cobra’s quick recovery from the piledriver was annoying. Later on, they have a nice flurry of back and forth action. Saito getting disqualified for ripping at the mask is a fitting end since you could tell he was frustrated at constantly being shown up by Cobra. We’ll move this forward but I won’t mind if it drops off. NJ classics 184
July 18, 200916 yr comment_5442084 Saito generally did well establishing himself as the brawler against the flashy juniors. That was especially helpful against Cobra, who lost his way pretty easily. This was a fine example of their basic dynamic but not something that will have much chance in the final cut. I actually pereferred the later match that Phil shat on because it was more hate-filled and grander. No vote.
September 26, 200916 yr comment_5444563 I think I liked this more then both of you guys. That brawl had some awful looking screw ups which this didn't have and the combo of Saito's insane missed tope into the rope walk plancha was the kind of signature moment that matches need. Crappy finish though and I am not going to fight for it.
