Posted June 10, 200916 yr comment_5440536 This was good bit different from their first match. Sano worked Liger's arm early, and Liger spent most of the match selling like the limb was paralyzed. When he went back on offense, he stayed away from his higher-risk stuff and went for a brawling style. He kicked Sano straight in the face a bunch of times and busted him open, possibly hard way. Eventually, of course, the arm came back into play as Sano started going for submissions. Liger never really recovered from a few arm bars. Sano then turned to his suplexes for the big finish. The superplex that won him the jr. title looked particularly brutal. As the second chapter in the decade's last great NJ feud, this has to go on the set. Lots of violence, great selling by Liger and a dramatic climax. NJ Classics 357
August 10, 200916 yr Author comment_5442672 The latter two Liger/Sano matches are from a poor VQ best of '89 comp I picked up at some point. That's why I didn't list the discs.
August 15, 200916 yr comment_5442818 OK, maybe it was just the angle, but Liger opens this up kicking Sano right in the face. Badass. Fuck, Liger is a dick... scrambles to the ropes when Sano has a fucking hold of the arm and responds with two more kicks to the face. Sano responds with some sweet kicks of his own including a nice Randy Orton punt to the face... softening up Liger for the arm work. So far, so good. Liger's selling of the arm is great... watch how he drags his limp hand across the mat. Fuck, he wrestles the next 15 minutes with one fucking arm, in the process of bloodying Sano up. Sano works on Liger's arm and Liger attacks Sano's face... fair tradeoff. This one is a fucking blast... super smart strategy by both guys, blood, big moves, stiff strikes, hot finish. This is Top 20 in my book... may hit my Top Ten.
August 28, 200916 yr comment_5443432 Yeah this was tremendous, Liger coming in with football shoulder pads I assume means their was an injury coming in. Big moves, cool story, blood, violence, either this or Koshinaka v. Takada will be my top rated junior match.
